Patch is a shy and timid little girl, as she gets comfortable she loves to be be cuddled. She very much relies on her brother Smudge to lead the way. She struggles with keeping her face clean so would need a family happy to help her out when she needs an extra wash.
Smudge is a stunningly handsome boy, with quite unusual markings. He is very shy until he gets to know people and then he is a total cuddle bug. He would like to find a home with his sister Patch as they’re best friends.
What can we say about Rosie, a French bull dog x staffy, she’s young, full of fun and an absolute sweetheart Loves dogs, loves people, infact just loves life. why not come meet her?
Meet Mrs. Hope, a lovely 8 year old lady who came into our care pregnant. We can only imagine how many litters this lady had over the years. She has raised her gorgeous 3 kittens with great care, has been spayed and is now ready to live the rest of her life carefree. She would love a home where she might have another cat for company, be allowed out for a safe ramble when she feels like it and then have a warm bed, food and loving care when she goes indoors. Just a safe, happy life really with a buddy hopefully. She has much to offer the right home. Please ring 086 2112850 if you would like to meet Mrs. HOPE.
This sweet older gentleman Jack, came into us from another rescue. At 11 years old he loves to potter and sniff in the garden just as much as he loves to curl up in the couch. As a senior boy, he does require medication to managed a medical issue. He is calm enough to suit apartment living and would be an ideal companion for someone home during the day or for a home with older children, he loves company! Alternately a home with a canine companion would be lovely too. Jack spent time in a foster home, and got a glowing report! Foster report: “He is confident and seems tranquil on his own but has major FOMO so if you’re doing anything he’d love to be a part of it! He is really cuddly and friendly with everyone he meets. His favourite place is on the sofa, completely under a blanket” Can you offer Jack a cosy spot on your couch? To adopt a dog from our Dublin center, we highly recommend a visit to our site on Mount Venus Road. We are open Tuesday to Sunday 12-4 and no appointment is needed to visit. You can chat to the team about any suitable dogs for your family, fill in an application onsite and most importantly… meet with any suitable dogs! Alternatively you can fill out an online expression of interest and you will hear from our team via phone or email over the coming days. Please be advised an online expression of interest does not reserve a dog, a visit to the center will still be required to activate your application and you may need to fill in further forms on your visit.
a total attention seeker who loves cuddles! Erling is a 4 month old lop cross male who came into the shelter with his mother Patty and his siblings. Patty came into the shelter when her babies were no more than 2 weeks old, and she had 5 of them! Even though this time was stressful and she had been living in bad conditions, Patty gave her babies everything and has been an excellent mother. Her babies have been thriving since coming in to us. Erling is such an affectionate rabbit and always looking for attention so would be a wonderful addition to a home looking for a cuddle-bun! Erling is too young to be neutered yet so he must go to a foster home until he can come back to the shelter for their surgery. We are planning on booking his neuter surgery for the end of September so he will be on foster until then. We are particularly looking for families to foster with the intention of adopting Erling after his surgery; we call this process ‘fostering-to-adopt’. Thank you for choosing to foster-to-adopt a rabbit from the NSPCA. Please make sure to do your research on how to care for a small animal before considering adopting. We recommend rabbits be kept indoors with an enclosure that’s a minimum of 140 x 60cm with plenty of indoor free roam time. Rabbits require proper housing, bedding, food, enrichment, exercise and vet visits. Small animals are not pets for young children to look after, all the family must be on board to look after and care for any new pet coming into the home. We have seen too many being abandoned so please make sure that you are in a position to look after them and provide them with everything they need. All our rabbits are microchipped and vaccinated and will be spayed once they are ready.
Playful, friendly and always ready for a zoomie, Yuki is looking for an active home where she can run, play and then relax on the sofa! Yuki is a lovely 4/5-year-old female Lurcher with a playful and friendly personality! Like any typical Lurcher, Yuki loves to stretch her legs and enjoy a good run. She will happily show off her famous zoomies before eventually deciding that it is time to curl up and have a well-earned snooze on the couch. Yuki would love an active home where she can enjoy plenty of exercise and opportunities to run and play, followed by plenty of relaxing time with her family. She has lots of fun and affection to bring to her new home.
Meet Tayto! Tayto was a stray who chose someone’s house to have her babies in (whom have all been named after Tayto flavours). Tayto has been out on foster with her kittens while they grow up. She has enjoyed being in the home, with lots of space and some doggy friends. While out on foster, Tayto had some health issues. She is on the mend, but after blood tests were done it was found that Tayto is FIV+. FIV isn’t a death sentence- it just means she is immunocompromised. It also means that she will need to be kept as a strict housecat with no outdoor access. This is something she will be more than happy with, as she loves to sprawl out on the sofa, or watch the world go past outside the window. Tayto would be best suited to a home with older children, and could live with a cat-savvy dog. She is a very friendly girl, but she can be a slow burner when it comes to bonding with her person. She took a while to come around to the fosterer- but this could also be because she is having to put must of her energy into raising her chaotic little kittens! Once she is settled in and doesn’t have to think of her kittens anymore, she should show her true personality! If you think you could offer Tayto a home, please get in touch.

Alaric is a busy little terrier man who is looking for an active family ready to keep up with his fun and lively personality! He is searching for a home with a large, secure garden where he can enjoy plenty of space and where his new family can spend time building his skills and training before taking on the wider world. Alaric would prefer to be the only dog in the home while he works on learning how to meet and greet other dogs more politely. He can live with older teens from the age of 14 years. This clever little man will benefit from some training around focus and polite behaviours while on the lead. His ideal family will be patient, dedicated and excited to work with him, starting his training in the garden and gradually building up to new adventures. Alaric is a bright boy, and with the right approach, training should be lots of fun and rewarding for both him and his new owners! Due to his coat type, Alaric will also need regular grooming to keep him looking and feeling his best. Alaric is a lively and intelligent little character who is ready to find an active family willing to invest time in helping him become the best version of himself.
Adelle is a dream dog, we absolutely love this gorgeous, gentle lurcher. She has a very soft nature and will make a fantastic pet. Adelle is around 2 years of age and is very easy-going. She is fantastic with all dogs, large or small and will need a home where she has a companion dog. She has the cutest little zoomies when she’s happy and she makes us all smile with her silly bursts! Adelle walks nicely on lead but sometimes lacks confidence when being walked away from where she feels safe. We send her out on roadwalks with plenty of volunteers but she need cajoling and encouragement when she’s alone. Walking with another dog – no problem! Whoever takes Adelle will need to go slowly and help her get over any shyness. Adelle is very clean in her kennel, she is gentle and polite around food, she loves her bed! She is also one of the few lurchers we would consider rehoming to a home where there is a cat, her nature we feel is too soft to pose any real threat. If you would like to apply for this beautiful, happy lady, please read the Adoption Process on our website and apply using the Adoption Questionnaire.
Ambrose is a typical sighthound boy who enjoys all the important things in life: zoomies, comfy beds and plenty of lovely butt scratches! This sweet and affectionate little man has a wonderfully giddy and clownish side that is sure to keep his new family entertained. Whether he is racing around in a burst of excitement or settling down for a well deserved snooze, Ambrose has plenty of personality to share. He can live with children from the age of 8 years and may be able to live with another dog who can tolerate his sighthound zoomies and sometimes vocal play style. Ambrose is a lovely boy with lots of affection to give and a fun, playful nature. He is looking for a family who will appreciate his silly side, enjoy his bursts of energy and make sure he always has a cosy bed waiting for him at the end of the day.
Xackary is a sweet older gentleman who certainly does not let his age slow him down! He is looking for a loving home where he can enjoy all the little things in life. This lovely boy enjoys heading out for a gentle potter, taking his time to explore the world around him. He also loves a game of fetch and, like the true gentleman he is, Xackary will proudly bring his toy back ready for another throw! Xackary may be able to live with another calm and gentle dog, pending a successful meet and greet. He would prefer a canine companion who enjoys a quieter life, as he is not looking for too much rough and tumble. He can live with dog savvy teens from the age of 12 years and would love a family who can give him plenty of affection, gentle exercise and, of course, lots of opportunities to play with his favourite toys. Xackary is a wonderful older boy with plenty of life and love still to give. He is ready to find a special family who will cherish him and enjoy all the fun and companionship this lovely gentleman has to offer.

A gentle senior with plenty of life left to enjoy, Basil is looking for a loving home to spend his golden years. Basil is a lovely 10+ year-old Jack Russell Terrier who is still very much enjoying life. He is a friendly boy who loves going for walks and, most importantly, absolutely adores playing with tennis balls! Basil is a lovely 10+ year-old Jack Russell Terrier who is still very much enjoying life. He is a friendly boy who loves going for walks and, most importantly, absolutely adores playing with tennis balls! Basil doesn’t have many teeth left and has a grade 3 heart murmur, so his new family will need to be aware of his medical needs and continue to monitor his health with their vet. Despite this, Basil is still happy to head out for a walk, enjoy some playtime and make the most of his days. Basil is now looking for a loving home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by comfort, care and companionship as an only pet (he is friendly towards other dogs, but in the house he likes to have all the food to himself). He may be a senior, but he still has plenty of fun and affection to give.
Meet Ren Ren is a beautiful little Cocker Spaniel, around 4–5 years old, who simply hasn’t had an easy start in life. This sweet girl is incredibly gentle and has absolutely no badness in her. When she first came to us, she was frightened of her own shadow. She wouldn’t let us touch or lift her, but with time, patience, and kindness, she’s come such a long way. We can now stroke her, pick her up, and watch her confidence grow every day. Ren is now ready to find a home of her own, and we truly believe that’s where she’ll continue to flourish. Ren’s ideal home: ● Another confident dog is essential – we will not consider homes without another dog, as having a canine companion is vital for her confidence and wellbeing. ● Children aged 12+ who are dog-savvy and understand the importance of giving her space. ● A quiet home with very little coming and going. ● A secure garden is a must. Ren will be a little bit of a project, but she’ll repay your patience with something truly special. Watching this lovely girl learn to trust and enjoy life will be one of the most rewarding journeys you could take.
Meet Romulus Romulus is a gorgeous one-year-old German Shepherd cross with a heart as big as his paws! This handsome boy is the definition of a big cuddly bear. He is affectionate, playful and full of personality, and once he gets to know you, he’ll happily be your shadow and your very best friend. Romulus is the kind of dog who wants to be involved in everything and, if he had his way, would probably spend his days bouncing around, playing and then climbing onto your lap for a cuddle! Romulus was born with elbow dysplasia, a genetic condition affecting his elbow joint. Importantly, Romulus himself has absolutely no idea he’s any different from any other big pup his age He is a happy, bouncy young dog At present, his only treatment is a joint supplement, and his care team do not currently anticipate this causing significant issues for him in the future. His new family will simply need to understand his condition and be committed to giving him the appropriate care as he grows. Romulus is looking for a family who will appreciate that underneath all that youthful energy is a loving, loyal and incredibly affectionate boy who is going to make someone an amazing companion. He could potentially live with another friendly, settled dog following suitable introductions. We would also consider a home with children aged 8+ who are confident and used to living with large, bouncy dogs. Romulus will need a family who can continue to guide him, help him mature into the wonderful adult dog he is destined to become, and most importantly, give him all the love he deserves. Romulus is going to be someone’s absolute best friend. Could that someone be you?
Meet Buddy Buddy is a gorgeous 3-year-old Pointer cross Collie, we believe, and he is an incredibly affectionate boy who absolutely adores his humans. He is a super cuddly, loving boy who forms strong bonds with his people and would love nothing more than a home where he can feel safe, settled and part of the family. Buddy has previously lived with children, but we feel he would be best suited to children aged 14+ who are dog savvy. The rescue environment can be quite overwhelming for Buddy, with lots of noise, activity and other dogs around him. He finds this difficult, which is why we are looking for a quiet, settled home with a calm routine and not too much coming and going. Interestingly, when he is out and about, Buddy generally copes very well around other dogs. However, he would need to be the only dog in the home, where he can relax and enjoy having his people all to himself. Buddy really is a lovely boy who has so much love to give. We know that somewhere out there is a quiet home where he can finally decompress, feel secure and be the affectionate, loyal companion we know he can be. Could you be Buddy’s forever home?

Meet Daisy, a 10 month old Collie Lurcher cross looking for the perfect family to call her own! Daisy is an energetic, playful girl. She loves to run and play, and also to cuddle up with her favourite teddy bear. Daisy was surrendered into the shelter through no fault of her own. She is building her confidence by working on socialising with other dogs in the shelter, and will need to keep working on this in her new home. Daisy is a wonderful mix of breeds, making her highly intelligent and lots of fun! A home experienced in either of both of the breeds would be preferred. Daisy is very food driven, so training her will be lots of fun! Could Daisy be the right fit for you?
Mr. Steed has been called an ideal pet, and some days that seems like an understatement😊 Mr. Steed is very sociable, highly affectionate and super gentle. He loves the company of other dogs, adores children, and, as if all that wasn’t enough, he gets on famously with cats, too😊 The one thing Mr. Steed is not is a chaser, which in the world of pet dogs is always a welcome quality, of course, and just another feather in his cap😉 When it comes to livestock (sheep, pigs, horses in this case), Mr. Steed has proven to be a total gentleman around them, too😊 If you would like to welcome this gem of a pooch into your heart and home, please get in touch with us here below.
Lucy is a very special little collie girl – namely, she is deaf. She was born to a fine working dog mama, but since Lucy is hearing-impaired, she will not be able to become a working dog herself. But that’s okay, because Lucy has all the makings of a perfect pet😊 She is simply adorable: she’s very good-natured and exceptionally affectionate, and on top of that she’s always up for fun and playful good times😊 Lucy really likes the company of other dogs and the human smallies: as far as she’s concerned, they’re simply the best! She hasn’t met cats yet, so we can’t tell you how she’d react to them – approach with caution would probably be good advice to begin with😊 If there’s anything in this world Lucy likes as much or even more than her human and canine playmates, it’s food! It doesn’t take much coaxing to get her attention when food’s involved😉 Lucy would benefit from a loving forever home with people who have the time and patience to teach her communication with hand signs and other visual cues. And the good news is that Lucy's already started training with her foster mom and she really seems to enjoy it😊
