    Rusty – With Foster

    €135adoption fee

Domestic Medium Haired · 8-10 Years · Male · Small

    Co. Longford, Ireland

Rusty is a lovely boy who is looking for a foster home or foster-to-adopt placement with someone willing to give him the time and patience he needs to truly blossom. Rusty was making fantastic progress while he was in our centre, but unfortunately, after moving into our main cattery, he became more withdrawn again. He’s currently staying in foster with one of our staff members, where he can feel safe and continue building his confidence. Because he’s currently in foster, meet-and-greets will need to be arranged in advance. Rusty is looking for someone who understands that confidence doesn’t always come in a straight line. With the right environment, patience, and lots of gentle encouragement, we’re hopeful that this lovely boy will continue to come out of his shell and show us his true personality. Could you be the person to give Rusty the time and space he needs to flourish? Rusty is on foster, so if you’d like to meet him, we will need to arrange in advance!

  • Arona – Photo 1 of 1

    Arona

    from£90adoption fee

Domestic Short Hair · 3-4 months · Female

    Co. Down, Northern Ireland

Arona came into our care after being discovered stuck inside a car engine by a member of the public. Thankfully, she was rescued and after a health check from our veterinary team, and some time in our cattery she is now ready to begin the search for her forever home. Arona is a friendly little girl who, once she knows you, loves people and enjoys gentle head rubs. She can be a little nervous initially, so would love to find a home where her new owners are around most of the day to help her settle and adjust in her environment. Arona could live with children over 10 years old, who are sensible around cats. It is unknown how she would react to other pets in the home, but she may be able to live with another friendly cat or a cat-savvy dog following careful introductions.

    Flossie

    €275adoption fee

Collie (Border) Cross · 1 year · Female · Medium

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

Flossie is a gentle soul with a whole lot of love to give. She may be a timid girl who needs a little time to feel comfortable, but once she has had the chance to get to know you at her own pace, she blossoms into the most loving and cuddly companion. When Flossie finds her person, she forms a very special bond and would happily spend her days right by your side. For Flossie, the world can sometimes feel like a big and scary place. She needs new people to take things slowly and give her the time and patience she needs to build trust. With the reassurance of someone she knows and loves, her confidence grows day by day, allowing her naturally curious and gentle personality to shine through. Flossie will need ongoing support with learning to walk nicely on a lead, so her new family will need to be patient and happy to continue her training at her own pace. A fully enclosed garden would be a real bonus for her, giving Flossie a safe space where she can gradually build her confidence and discover the outside world without feeling overwhelmed. Flossie is looking for a calm, adult-only home with people who have plenty of time, patience and understanding to help her flourish. She does enjoy the company of other dogs, and having a confident canine companion in her new home could help her feel more secure and show her that the world isnt quite so frightening. With the right person by her side, Flossie has so much potential to blossom. If youre looking for a quiet, loving companion and have the time to let her confidence grow at her own pace, Flossie could be the special girl youve been waiting for.

  • Pepper – Photo 1 of 2

    Pepper

    €275adoption fee

    Lurcher Cross · 9 months · Female · Medium

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

Beautiful, speckled Pepper is a young lurcher with a big personality and plenty of puppy energy! She loves getting out and about, exploring the world around her and following her nose on exciting walks. Pepper is also wonderfully people-orientated and makes friends very quickly with everyone she meets. Pepper adores human company, so her new family will need to help her gradually build up confidence with being left alone as she settles into normal home life. She absolutely loves playtime and would thrive with an active family who can commit to continuing her training and helping her learn all the skills she needs to become a happy, well-rounded adult. Like many young dogs, Pepper can sometimes get a little over-excited and find it tricky to contain all that enthusiasm! As well as helping her settle into her new home, her future family will need to teach Pepper how to relax and settle between adventures and play sessions. Pepper is looking for a home with adults or older teenagers who can give her the time, patience and guidance she needs. She enjoys meeting and playing with other dogs, although she can occasionally be a little enthusiastic in her approach. For this reason, Pepper would currently be happiest as the only pet in the home. If youre looking for a fun-loving, affectionate young dog who will keep you smiling and who is ready to learn alongside her new family, Pepper could be the girl for you.

    Jimmy & Choo

    €100adoption fee

    Ferret / Ferrets · 6 months · Small

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

two bananas babies looking for a fun-filled home! These two little loonies are Jimmy and Choo. They were found dumped in a shoebox down the country and thankfully someone spotted them and rescued them. Our inspectors brought them to our Dublin centre so they could start their recovery. We assume Jimmy and Choo are siblings as they are very close. They were treated for mites and microchipped when they arrived and have settled really well. Like most young ferrets, they can play bite quite a bit but this is behaviour that should settle over time; because of this, we recommend Jimmy and Choo go to homes with experienced ferret keepers who won’t mind the occasional nip! Jimmy and Choo are really coming out of their shell and absolutely love exploring every inch of their enclosure and snoozing in their cuddly bed. We’re sure with the right home they’ll be the nicest pair around! We are looking for foster homes for these ferrets with homes intending to adopt them once they’re old enough. We call this process ‘foster-to-adopt’. We are doing this because these ferrets are too young to receive their contraceptive implant, so we are looking for foster homes for them until they are 6 months old. They will then come back to us to get their implant and can then be officially adopted by their foster families. Ferrets are highly social, active animals and benefit hugely from another ferret friend and/or someone who is home a lot of the time to interact with them. They need to live inside with a multi-storey enclosure where they can climb, sleep and go to the toilet. We are happy to recommend enclosures or any advice on husbandry by email: smallanimals@nspca.ie

  • Mozart – Photo 1 of 1

    Mozart

    from£90adoption fee

Domestic Short Hair · 3 years · Male

    Co. Down, Northern Ireland

Mozart was admitted into our care back in May after he was found with a cat bite abscess to the right side of his head. After treatment from our veterinary team and some much needed TLC, Mozart is looking to find a very special home! Mozart is a very handsome boy who is full of personality and loves spending time with people! This sweet boy got his musically-inspired name as he just loves to chat and say 'Hello' to everyone at our centre. Mozart is such a friendly kitty and loves everyone he meets, he adores being made a fuss of especially when he gets lots of gentle head rubs and cuddles. He is also full of energy and has a curious, playful side, enjoying playing with his favourite mouse toys and getting involved in all the comings and goings of daily life! Mozart will need a very special home, as he is FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) which means he has a weaker immune system and will need to be an indoor-only cat . Cats with FIV can still live a happy and full life, but these boundaries help to ensure he is kept safe. It is important that Mozart finds a home where he can be the only cat, however he could potentially live with another FIV+ cat pending gradual introductions in the home. Mozart could live with children 6 years old or older who are used to cats.

    Bunny Blanco

    €100adoption fee

Florida White Cross · 1-2 years · Male · Small

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

a big boy with big love to give :) Bunny Blanco is a 1-2 year old New Zealand White cross male who came into the NSPCA through our inspectors after being found with other rabbits living in awful conditions. He was quite nervous when he first arrived but he’s been thriving ever since and has been so good here. He absolutely loves his food and will be easily won over by treats! Bunny Blanco could happily live with a spayed female rabbit or as the only bun once he has space to hop around and interact with his family. Once he has a comfy bed to lie down for cuddles in the evening he’ll be a very happy bun! Thank you for choosing to adopt a rabbit from the NSPCA. Please make sure to do your research on how to care for a small animal before considering adopting. We recommend rabbits be kept indoors with an enclosure that’s a minimum of 140 x 60cm with plenty of indoor free roam time. Rabbits require proper housing, bedding, food, enrichment, exercise and vet visits. Small animals are not pets for young children to look after, all the family must be on board to look after and care for any new pet coming into the home. We have seen too many being abandoned so please make sure that you are in a position to look after them and provide them with everything they need. All our rabbits are microchipped, vaccinated and spayed/neutered.

    Theo

    Yellow-Bellied Slider · 20 years · Male · Small

    Co. Longford, Ireland

Theo is a handsome male Yellow-bellied Terrapin who is at least 20 years old. He has been extremely well cared for throughout his life, but unfortunately his owner is no longer able to look after him, meaning he is now searching for a new forever home. Theo has been used to receiving excellent care and is looking for a special adopter who can provide that same level of dedication. His new home will need to understand the long-term commitment involved in caring for a terrapin and be able to provide the appropriate space, equipment, and environment for him to continue living a happy and healthy life. At 20+ years old, Theo is certainly a long-term companion, and we want to make sure his next home is one where he will be just as loved and well cared for as he has been throughout his life.
