  • Koda – Photo 1 of 4

    Koda

    Bull Breed · 1-3 Years · Female · Medium

    Co. Cork, Ireland

Waiting 6 months now to be noticed………………. Koda is over a year old. A striking mix. We arent sure of the breed. There is about a quarter staffie and the rest lab and lurcher. She is medium in size. Koda is house and crate trained. Great on the lead and when encountering other dogs on walks. Koda has also had obedience training. She has no history with small children. An home experienced with the breed would be ideal for girl. No cats for Koda. Koda is such a loving girl and has moved around a bit. She is looking for a patient home to let her settle. Fine out meeting dogs on the lead but best as the only dog in the home. Children over 12 for Koda as she doesnt realise her strength when playing. She loves to play fetch. She has moved around a bit so does take time to settle, but once allowed that time she slots right in.

  • Fifi – Photo 1 of 2

    Fifi

    €250adoption fee

    Akita Cross · 10 years · Female

    Co. Laois, Ireland

She’s a 9-year-old Akita Cross bursting with love to share. She is a sweet and affectionate girl who adores people and forms deep bonds with those who care for her. She enjoys her walks and is great on the lead, but she thrives in quieter environments. A peaceful countryside home or a small town with access to parks or forests would be ideal for her. Busy city life just isn’t her thing. Fifi would do best as the only pet in the home—she prefers to have all the love to herself! She’s not a fan of cats but would be wonderful with older, dog-savvy children who understand her needs. Could you be the one to finally give Fifi her happy ending? She’s been waiting far too long. If you think she might be the perfect fit for your home. 🙏🏻.

    Co. Down, Northern Ireland

Rehoming Roosters (and Young Hens) We were recently asked to take in a group of young hens and roosters who hadn’t had the best start in life – crammed into tiny cages with very little space. With care and kindness, they’ve flourished and are now ready to find their forever homes. At around 5 months old, they are friendly, sociable, and well used to a natural routine – enjoying their days out and about, then happily returning to their coops at night. Please note: Home checks apply You will need a flock number These lovely birds deserve the chance to continue their happy, free-range lives. Could you offer them a safe and loving home?

  • Marvin – Photo 1 of 10

    Marvin

    €250adoption fee

    Sighthound · 3 years · Male

    Co. Tipperary, Ireland

Marvin is a wonderfully friendly boy to humans. Loves their company. He can be jealous of other dogs, and protects the kitchen area when food is being prepared. He is very intelligent and only wants to please but can be over-protective when faced with strange dogs he never met. Reactive. Walks well on the leash and can be a real joy around. Most suitable as an only dog although he can live with others. He led a nomadic life and would have been a hunting dog. As a result he has a strong prey drive. He is actually perfect for many people, especially for an active home.

  • Koda – Photo 1 of 2

    Koda

    Cat · 5 years · Female

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

Koda is almost 5 years old and spends her days both inside her home and outside in the garden. Koda needs a new home through no fault of her own so we are hoping some one comes forward looking to adopt her soon. Koda has no physical or behavioural issues. She not too keen on being brushed! She’s an affectionate little cat, especially in the mornings. She’s quite independent throughout the day, and will cuddle up on our laps in the evening. She’s always keen to play and we think she’d probably do well in a home with the company of another cat as I think she can be a little bored during the day with just us around. Koda sleeps indoors at night. She is a petite little cat and is playful and affectionate. She is neutered, microchipped and fully up to date with her vaccinations. She is microchipped, fully vaccinated and is spayed. Koda likes people and other cats. She is also used to being around children with no issues so a family home may suit her as she’s super playful and engages well with children.

  • Roxie – Photo 1 of 1

    Roxie

    €140adoption fee

    Cat · 5 years · Female

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

Indoor Home Applicants Only! Roxie is a sweet five year old indoor only cat with a gentle soul. She has had a tough start, spending most of her life in a cattery where stress and living alongside her daughter Jemima led to overgrooming and hair loss. Now in a calm foster home, Roxie has truly blossomed. Though she was shy at first, she has become quite affectionate and enjoys quiet company. Once Roxie gets used to people, she thoroughly enjoys a good cuddle and scratch behind the ears. Roxie needs daily steroids to keep her skin healthy, but they’re very affordable at less than 30 cents a day. She’s ready for a peaceful forever home where she can continue to thrive as the only pet, soaking up all the love she’s missed. Roxie is microchipped, fully vaccinated and is spayed. She eats both wet and dry food – she’s on a special low allergen food to help give her skin and fur the best chance to recover from the stress induced over grooming in the past.

  • Larry – Photo 1 of 1

    Larry

    Dog · Male

    Co. Down, Northern Ireland

Meet Larry Larry is one of those dogs who really makes you appreciate just how far patience, love and understanding can take a dog. Larry arrived at Almost Home 18 months ago after being found as a stray in Armagh with his two siblings, who have long since found their forever homes. Larry, however, needed a little more time. When he first arrived, Larry was terrified. He had never really been handled or given the chance to understand that people could be trusted, and he certainly wasn’t the easiest boy at the beginning. But over the past 18 months, he has come such a long way. Today, Larry is a completely different dog. Once he knows you and feels safe in his environment, he is full of life, fun and personality. He loves being out and about and is now walking fantastically on the lead. Watching him grow in confidence has been amazing. We’re now looking for a very special home for Larry — one that understands that he may need a little time to settle and build a relationship, but will be rewarded with a wonderful, fun-loving boy once he does. Larry would ideally like to live with another dog, male or female. We feel having a confident canine companion will really help him, as Larry takes his cues from other dogs and learns from them. Larry isn’t looking for a home that expects everything to happen overnight. He’s looking for someone willing to give him the time, patience and consistency he deserves. After 18 months with us, we would absolutely love to see Larry finally get his chance at a forever home. If you think you could be the person to give Larry that chance, please get in touch with Almost Home Animal Rescue NI.

    Sirius and Neptune

    €60adoption fee

    Cat

    Co. Cork, Ireland

Neptune and Sirius – are two 11 month old kittens They were born in a shed in rural West Cork next to a loving multi-cat home (whose human was surprised with three tiny parcels one morning!) and this home has been lovingly looking after them until the time was right for them to find a new home. They love a balance between outdoors and indoors and a typical day involves a roam around in nature, some playing (hide and seek is their favourite) and curling up by the fire in the evening for some peace and quiet (and fish!). This lifestyle is what they are used to and what they are comfortable with so they seek a home that allows them freedom to roam in a garden or on land with the option of returning home for rest and relaxation whenever they want. All are neutered and microchipped and full of love! to apply for a pair of these cats, please fill out our Adoption Questionnaire – West Cork Animals
