Akiro is a handsome 7-year-old Husky who’s been patiently waiting for his forever home for a long time now. This lovely boy has so much love to give and is hoping to find a family who will give him the life he truly deserves. Akiro enjoys his walks and loves a good adventure He’s just as happy chilling out on a comfy couch and relaxing with his people. He’s a curious soul who likes to follow his humans around the house – always keeping an eye on things (and hoping for a few ear scratches along the way!). He would most likely prefer to be the only dog in the home, and could live with older, dog-savvy children. Akiro is not suited to outdoor living – he’s looking for a home where he can live and sleep indoors as part of the family. Like most Huskies, he’ll need a fully enclosed garden with at least 6ft fencing to keep him safe and secure.

How to adopt from Husky Rescue Ireland
Apply online via the adoption form; dogs are matched to suitable homes (many need experienced northern-breed or Akita owners and indoor living). A home check follows, then a meet-and-greet with the dog and a pre-adoption talk; you finalise the adoption and pay the adoption fee, then bring your new dog home.
Adoption fees
Adoption fee: €250. It covers a full vet check, vaccinations, microchip, neuter / spay, rescue back-up for the remainder of your dog's life, and support and advice.
