  • Lexi – Photo 1 of 9

    Lexi

    €245adoption fee

    Collie · 5-7 Years · Female · Medium

    Co. Longford, Ireland

Smart, sensitive, and full of energy. Lexi is looking for a calm home where she can thrive and feel secure. Smart, sensitive, intense and full of energy, Lexi is a serious border collie looking for an experienced home where she can thrive. Lexi is an incredibly intelligent girl who needs more than just walks to keep her happy. She will need lots of mental stimulation, training and enrichment, and ideally a home where she can have a job or something purposeful to keep her busy. She’s happiest when she has something to focus her clever Collie brain on. She absolutely loves being active and enjoys walks, runs, hikes and, above all else, chasing her ball — in Lexi’s world, the ball is king! 🎾 She’s also highly trainable and loves learning new things, particularly when there are tasty rewards involved. Lexi is toilet trained, sleeps indoors, walks well on lead and has great recall, particularly when her favourite toy is involved. She is also continuing to work on her training and will need an owner who is confident, consistent and strong-willed, while using positive and appropriate training methods to help her continue progressing. Like many Border Collies, Lexi can be sensitive and may become overwhelmed in busy or noisy environments. She needs a calm, quiet home, ideally away from heavy traffic and lots of activity. A secure, spacious garden is a must! Lexi is looking for an adult-only home with someone experienced with collies who understands that she isn’t your typical easy-going pet dog. She would preferably live with a female main carer, and she needs to be the only dog in the home. Lexi is a special girl who needs a very specific home, but for the right person, she has the potential to be an incredibly rewarding companion. If you have collie experience, the time and commitment to continue her training, and the ability to give her the structure and purpose she needs, Lexi could be the girl for you.

  • Realtin – Photo 1 of 8

    Realtin

    €275adoption fee

Retriever (Labrador) Cross · 1 year · Female · Medium

    Ireland

Realtin is a gentle soul waiting for her moment to shine. She is a sweet but nervous young lady who has not yet had much experience of everyday life, so the world can feel a little overwhelming at first. With patience, kindness, and understanding, she has so much potential to grow in confidence and truly sparkle in a loving home. Realtin has recently spent time in a foster home, where she did really well and began to grow in confidence. Being in a home environment gave her the opportunity to start learning about everyday life, and it showed just how much she can flourish with patient support. Realtin will need a committed adopter who can support her on her journey as she learns what it means to feel safe and settled. She may take some time to adjust, but with reassurance and steady encouragement, you will begin to see her bright personality emerge. As her confidence builds, she will also need help with puppy basics training, all at her own pace. She is not yet walking on a lead, so a fully secure garden is essential. This will give her a safe space to explore, enjoy the outdoors, and gently begin practising her lead skills when she feels ready. Realtin would be happiest in an adult only home or with older, calm teens, ideally with a calm and confident resident dog who can guide her and help her understand the world. A canine companion will also need to be comfortable with her playful bursts of puppy energy as she grows in confidence. She may enjoy having a crate to retreat to when she is finding life a little overwhelming. With time, love, and patience, Realtin truly can become the shining little star she was meant to be.

Spice Male aged 8 Neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Spice is one of our resident chatty boys. He’s a lovely boy who loves attention. He recently had a dental so his teeth are tip top but unfortunately, he was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, a heart condition. This in no way affects his day-to-day life and he takes 1 tablet a day like a trooper to keep his blood thin. A bit like us with an aspirin. He loves his food and treats and would make the best companion on your sofa. He lived with another cat before but could happily be an only cat. We don’t know how he is with dogs. • Xena – Photo 1 of 1

    Xena

    €200adoption fee

    Shepherd · 5 years · Female

    Co. Cork, Ireland

We are sadly looking to rehome our nearly 5-year-old German Shepherd, Xena, due to housing circumstances. Xena is a loyal and protective dog who is excellent with children and has been part of a busy family environment. She is okay with cats, though supervision is advised, especially around food as she can be food dominant. She would make a great guard dog, as she is naturally wary of visitors. She can be unsure at first, but with calm, dog-friendly people and proper introductions, she settles well and builds trust. Xena is a reactive and nervous dog, particularly around other dogs, likely due to limited socialisation during COVID. Because of this, she would be best suited to a home with no other dogs and with an owner experienced in handling reactive or anxious dogs. She has been keyhole neutered (spayed) and is microchipped. Xena has never been crated, travels well in the car, and is good on the lead. She understands and follows basic commands and is a clever, responsive dog. She is also very expressive—she’ll even put her ears back when she knows she’s done something wrong. She is very alert and will bark at almost anything (even small movements like leaves or dust), so she needs an owner who understands this behaviour and can manage or train it appropriately. Ideal home: No other dogs Someone experienced with reactive or nervous dogs A calm, structured environment Secure outdoor space This is a very difficult decision for our family, and we are committed to finding Xena a safe, patient, and permanent home where she can thrive. to apply for Xena, please fill out our Adoption Questionnaire – West Cork Animals

    Rusty

    €275adoption fee

    Lurcher Cross · 6 years · Male · Large

    Ireland

Rusty is a 6-year-old gentleman with a loving nature and a real appreciation for the simple things in life. He adores being close to his people, whether thats curling up beside you on the couch or stretching out in a warm patch of sunshine for a peaceful snooze. He still has a playful side, especially when it comes to his soft toys, which he delights in de-fluffing with great enthusiasm before proudly carrying them around. Rusty is dog-social, though his excitement can sometimes get the better of him when hes out and about. For that reason, he needs to be the only dog in the home, keeping his canine friendships to those he meets on walks. He could live with children aged 10 who understand that hes not a rough-and-tumble playmate - he's a chilled companion who values gentle affection and a relaxed atmosphere. Rusty would thrive in a quieter area and will need a fully enclosed garden, as hes surprisingly springy when he wants to be. Rusty is ready to settle into a peaceful, loving home where he can enjoy comfort, companionship, and all the cosy moments he deserves. Type of home required: He would like a secure garden where he can play with his toys and someone to give him time on his walks so he can sniff away at his own pace.

    €200adoption fee

    Lurcher · 3-4 years · Male

    Co. Tipperary, Ireland

Cu was found 3 years ago in Kildare. He was in horrendous condition. A severe leg injury, malnourished and flea ridden. His finder spent €3,000 treating his injuries and bringing his to the beautiful dog he is today. Sadly, illness has hit the family and Cu needs a new home. A quiet , child free home would be best. He is approximately 4 years old. Neutered, vaccinated and chipped. But it must be noted, he can open doors, so vigilance is important. Poor Cu was found cowered in a ditch roughly three years ago in Co Kildare. He was in a very bad way with a severe leg injury. His finder spent a lot of money treating his injuries and what a beauty he has transformed into today. Due to unfortunate illness in the family they surrendered him into our care to find a new home for him. Cu is vaccinated, microchipped & neutered Cu is a tall boy and is so very handsome – he has a beautiful light fawn brindle coat with striking stripes 💕 He absolutely adores his food especially when you throw in a bit of mince and chicken and his favourite treat of all time is a Rich Tea biscuit 😂 Cu loves his walks, he gets excited at first and then quickly calms down – he can walk with other dogs with a muzzle. He loves a zoomie and run around the garden and adores a football Cu would like a home on his own or he could live with a very placid dog that would not invade his space. He is a bit of a bed addict – he will curl up small in his bed when he has had a good walk / play
