    Nancy

Shetland Pony · 11-13 Years · Female · Extra small

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

Meet Nancy A very sweet pony with a classic Shetland personality - quirky, charming and full of character! She can be a little more nervous and cautious than her best friend Sally, so she needs someone who understands that trust takes time. Nancy may initially be unsure of new people but give her time, take things slow and you’ll start to see her true personality shine through. Once she trusts you, she loves attention and affection. She is closely bonded with Sally, who is her brave and confident friend. We would love to rehome these two as a pair. Nancy is a lot more confident around Sally. Once you catch Sally in the field, Nancy will happily come over to you. Nancy is currently on a weight-loss journey, which is important part of keeping her healthy. Her future owner would need to continue her weight- management plan and provide appropriate care to help her reach and maintain a healthy weight. Nancy will need a patient and understanding forever home that is willing to put the time and work into building her confidence. Underneath that nervous exterior is a lovely little pony waiting to come out of her shell. Give Nancy patience and kindness, and she’ll give you her trust in return.

  • Patty & Rachel – Photo 1 of 9

    Patty & Rachel

    €100adoption fee

    Lop Cross · Under 6 Months, 1-2 Years · Female · Small

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

a mother and daughter duo looking for love Patty and Rachel are two girlies who came into the shelter together with Patty’s other babies. They were no more than 2 weeks old, and Patty had 5 of them! Even though this time was stressful and she had been living in bad conditions, Patty gave her babies everything and has been an excellent mother. Her babies have been thriving since coming in to us. She was always closest to Rachel so we decided to keep them together to find a forever home who would love the two of them equally. Patty has now been spayed but Rachel is not old enough yet, but she will be spayed very soon. Racehl is too young to be neutered yet so she must go to a foster home until she can come back to the shelter for her surgery. We are planning on booking her spay surgery in October so she will be on foster until then. We are particularly looking for families to foster with the intention of adopting Patty and Rachel together after Rachel’s surgery; we call this process ‘fostering-to-adopt’. Thank you for choosing to foster-to-adopt a rabbit from the NSPCA. Please make sure to do your research on how to care for a small animal before considering adopting. We recommend rabbits be kept indoors with an enclosure that’s a minimum of 140 x 60cm for two rabbits with plenty of indoor free roam time. Rabbits require proper housing, bedding, food, enrichment, exercise and vet visits. Small animals are not pets for young children to look after, all the family must be on board to look after and care for any new pet coming into the home. We have seen too many being abandoned so please make sure that you are in a position to look after them and provide them with everything they need. All our rabbits are microchipped and vaccinated and will be spayed once they are ready.

    Jack

    €245adoption fee

Jack Russell Terrier · 11 years · Male · Small

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

This sweet older gentleman Jack, came into us from another rescue. At 11 years old he loves to potter and sniff in the garden just as much as he loves to curl up in the couch. As a senior boy, he does require medication to managed a medical issue. He is calm enough to suit apartment living and would be an ideal companion for someone home during the day or for a home with older children, he loves company! Alternately a home with a canine companion would be lovely too. Jack spent time in a foster home, and got a glowing report! Foster report: “He is confident and seems tranquil on his own but has major FOMO so if you’re doing anything he’d love to be a part of it! He is really cuddly and friendly with everyone he meets. His favourite place is on the sofa, completely under a blanket” Can you offer Jack a cosy spot on your couch? Basil is a lovely 10+ year-old Jack Russell Terrier who is still very much enjoying life. He is a friendly boy who loves going for walks and, most importantly, absolutely adores playing with tennis balls! Despite this, Basil is still happy to head out for a walk, enjoy some playtime and make the most of his days. Basil is now looking for a loving home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by comfort, care and companionship as an only pet (he is friendly towards other dogs, but in the house he likes to have all the food to himself). Loki

    €245adoption fee

    Husky · 3 years · Male · Large

    Co. Wicklow, Ireland

Loki is a 3-year-old Husky Cross who is very friendly and loves getting lots of attention and pets. He also enjoys playing with toys and is always happy to accept a tasty treat! Loki already knows how to sit and give paw when there are treats involved, showing that he is a clever boy who is eager to learn. He is full of energy, though, and can be quite strong on walks, pulling on the lead. As a big, energetic boy, Loki will need an active home that can continue his training and help him learn good manners on walks. Seamus

    €295adoption fee

    Cross / Lurcher · 11 months · Male · Large

    Co. Longford, Ireland

Meet this handsome young lad! At just 11 months old, this Lurcher cross is a big personality in a growing body! He’s a boisterous, excitable boy who is absolutely full of beans and seems to think everyone he meets is his new best friend. He’s a very sociable youngster who loves people and enjoys meeting other dogs. He can be quite full-on with other dogs, though, so he would need a canine companion who is confident and happy to set appropriate boundaries. He does well with dogs who respect his space and can communicate with him. Despite all his youthful energy, he settles really well once he’s had the chance to burn off some of those beans. As he’ll likely grow into a large dog, his new family will need to be prepared for an energetic young dog who will need plenty of exercise, enrichment, training and stimulation. Older children would suit him best! He’s also an impressive jumper, so a home with high, secure fencing will be essential. This lovely boy has so much potential and is going to be an incredible companion for an active family who can keep up with his enthusiasm for life!

    Turtle

    €135adoption fee

Domestic Short Hair · 1 year · Female · Small

    Co. Longford, Ireland

Turtle is a gorgeous young cat, estimated to be around 1 year old, who is ready for a new chapter in her life. Turtle is a beautiful young girl, estimated to be around 1 year old, who is ready to find a quiet and understanding home of her own. Turtle originally came into our care to have her babies, and now that her mum duties are over, it’s finally her turn to be spoiled! Turtle is currently enjoying some time in foster care, where she has been opening up really well. She is an inquisitive and sweet girl at heart, but there is an important side of Turtle that her new family will need to understand — she is currently very scared of being handled. Turtle isn’t ready to be picked up or fussed over just yet, and she will need someone who is willing to put in the time to earn her trust rather than expecting her to become a lap cat overnight. She needs plenty of patience, understanding and her own personal space, allowing her to come around in her own time. As she becomes more comfortable and learns that she is safe, we’re hopeful that we’ll continue to see more of her lovely personality shine through. Turtle would suit a quiet, calm home with someone who understands that sometimes the best way to show a nervous cat love is simply to give them the time and space they need. She’s already making wonderful progress, and with the right person by her side, we’re sure this sweet little girl has so much more to discover.
