  • Freddy – Photo 1 of 1

    Freddy

    €135adoption fee

Domestic Short Hair · 4 years · Male · Small

    Co. Wicklow, Ireland

Shy and deserving of a second chance, Freddy is looking for an experienced family to help him thrive. Freddy is an approximately 4-year-old ginger and white male cat who came into our care with Michael from a hoarding home and was rescued by our NSPCA inspectors. Freddy has some wheezy breathing which may be due to permanent damage to his airway, although we are unsure of the exact cause. Because of this, we are looking for an experienced family who is happy to take him on and continue giving him the care and veterinary attention he needs. Freddy has already been through a lot and now deserves the chance to settle into a loving home where someone will be patient with him and help him feel his best.

    Michael

    €135adoption fee

Domestic Short Hair · 4 years · Male · Small

    Co. Wicklow, Ireland

Timid and deserving of a second chance, Michael is looking for an experienced home ready to help him feel his best. Michael is an approximately 4-year-old ginger and white male cat who came into our care with Freddy from a hoarding home and was rescued by our NSPCA inspectors. Michael previously had an ulcer in his right eye, which has now completely healed. He does, however, have some wheezy breathing which may be due to permanent damage to his airway, although we are not certain of the cause at this stage. We are looking for an experienced family who is happy to take Michael on and continue working with their vets to help him feel as comfortable and healthy as possible. He has already been through a lot and deserves someone willing to give him the care and attention he needs. With the right family behind him, we hope Michael can settle into a loving home and enjoy the life he deserves.

He is a friendly young boy with a playful personality and plenty of fun to give. Like any Lurcher, Dawson loves having a good run around and can suddenly burst into a proper case of the zoomies! He also enjoys companionship, playtime and plenty of cozy snoozes. Dawson can sometimes be unsure when faced with something new and may need a little time and encouragement to work things out. Badger

    €245adoption fee

    Collie · 1 year · Male · Medium

    Co. Longford, Ireland

Badger is a gorgeous 1-year-old Collie who is looking for an active family to call his own. This bouncy young boy is absolutely delighted to be around people and has a huge amount of enthusiasm for life. He’s full of energy and will need plenty of exercise, enrichment, training and mental stimulation to keep his busy Collie brain happy. Badger came into our care after being rescued from a neglectful situation, and he’s now ready for the fresh start he deserves. Because of his age, energy levels and Collie nature, experience with the breed would be preferred. His new family should be prepared for an active young dog who will need guidance, structure and lots of opportunities to use both his body and his brain. Badger is a happy, bouncy boy with so much potential, and we can’t wait to see him thrive in the right home.

  • Florence – Photo 1 of 5

    Florence

    €245adoption fee

    Collie · 7 years · Female · Medium

    Co. Longford, Ireland

Florence is a beautiful 7-year-old Collie who is finally ready to find a home of her own. Florence came into our care after being found tied up with her puppies, with no shelter from the elements. She was a wonderful mum and took great care of her babies, who have now all found their forever homes. Now it’s Florence’s turn to be someone’s special girl. As Florence has likely never experienced life in a loving home, she’ll need a family who understands that she may need some time, patience and guidance while she learns all about home life. A little Collie experience would be a real bonus. Despite everything she’s been through, Florence is an absolutely beautiful and very friendly girl. She also doesn’t seem to mind other dogs, although any potential canine friendships would of course need to be assessed properly. Florence has spent her life caring for others. Now we’d love to see her experience the love, comfort and security of a home where she can finally be the one getting spoiled.

    Co. Longford, Ireland

Smeagol is a lovely 3-year-old Staffie/Pitbull cross who is looking for a fresh start. He came into our care through no fault of his own, after his owner was no longer able to care for him. Smeagol is a really friendly, lovely boy who enjoys spending time with people and is ready to find someone who will give him the love and attention he deserves. We’re still getting to know Smeagol around other dogs and are currently carrying out assessments, so we’re not yet sure whether he could live with another dog. We’ll know more as those assessments continue. Smeagol is looking for a home with older children aged 16+ and a family who will give him plenty of time to settle in and become part of the family. This handsome boy has so much to offer and is ready for his next chapter. Could you be the person he’s been waiting for?

With a little patience and plenty of affection, we’re sure this lovely boy will quickly become a wonderful companion. • Rusty – Photo 1 of 1

    Rusty

    €135adoption fee

Domestic Medium Haired · 8-10 Years · Male · Small

    Co. Longford, Ireland

Rusty is a lovely boy who is looking for a foster home or foster-to-adopt placement with someone willing to give him the time and patience he needs to truly blossom. Rusty was making fantastic progress while he was in our centre, but unfortunately, after moving into our main cattery, he became more withdrawn again. He’s currently staying in foster with one of our staff members, where he can feel safe and continue building his confidence. Because he’s currently in foster, meet-and-greets will need to be arranged in advance. Rusty is looking for someone who understands that confidence doesn’t always come in a straight line. With the right environment, patience, and lots of gentle encouragement, we’re hopeful that this lovely boy will continue to come out of his shell and show us his true personality. Could you be the person to give Rusty the time and space he needs to flourish?

  • Jimmy & Choo – Photo 1 of 8
    Pair

    Jimmy & Choo

    €100adoption fee

    Ferrets / Ferret · 6 months · Small

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

two bananas babies looking for a fun-filled home! These two little loonies are Jimmy and Choo. They were found dumped in a shoebox down the country and thankfully someone spotted them and rescued them. Our inspectors brought them to our Dublin centre so they could start their recovery. We assume Jimmy and Choo are siblings as they are very close. They were treated for mites and microchipped when they arrived and have settled really well. Like most young ferrets, they can play bite quite a bit but this is behaviour that should settle over time; because of this, we recommend Jimmy and Choo go to homes with experienced ferret keepers who won’t mind the occasional nip! Jimmy and Choo are really coming out of their shell and absolutely love exploring every inch of their enclosure and snoozing in their cuddly bed. We’re sure with the right home they’ll be the nicest pair around! We are looking for foster homes for these ferrets with homes intending to adopt them once they’re old enough. We call this process ‘foster-to-adopt’. We are doing this because these ferrets are too young to receive their contraceptive implant, so we are looking for foster homes for them until they are 6 months old. They will then come back to us to get their implant and can then be officially adopted by their foster families. Ferrets are highly social, active animals and benefit hugely from another ferret friend and/or someone who is home a lot of the time to interact with them. They need to live inside with a multi-storey enclosure where they can climb, sleep and go to the toilet. We are happy to recommend enclosures or any advice on husbandry by email: smallanimals@nspca.ie

  • Bunny Blanco – Photo 1 of 8

    Bunny Blanco

    €100adoption fee

Florida White Cross · 1-2 years · Male · Small

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

a big boy with big love to give :) Bunny Blanco is a 1-2 year old New Zealand White cross male who came into the NSPCA through our inspectors after being found with other rabbits living in awful conditions. He was quite nervous when he first arrived but he’s been thriving ever since and has been so good here. He absolutely loves his food and will be easily won over by treats! Bunny Blanco could happily live with a spayed female rabbit or as the only bun once he has space to hop around and interact with his family. Once he has a comfy bed to lie down for cuddles in the evening he’ll be a very happy bun! Thank you for choosing to adopt a rabbit from the NSPCA. Please make sure to do your research on how to care for a small animal before considering adopting. We recommend rabbits be kept indoors with an enclosure that’s a minimum of 140 x 60cm with plenty of indoor free roam time. Rabbits require proper housing, bedding, food, enrichment, exercise and vet visits. Small animals are not pets for young children to look after, all the family must be on board to look after and care for any new pet coming into the home. We have seen too many being abandoned so please make sure that you are in a position to look after them and provide them with everything they need. All our rabbits are microchipped, vaccinated and spayed/neutered.

Theo has been used to receiving excellent care and is looking for a special adopter who can provide that same level of dedication. His new home will need to understand the long-term commitment involved in caring for a terrapin and be able to provide the appropriate space, equipment, and environment for him to continue living a happy and healthy life. At 20+ years old, Theo is certainly a long-term companion, and we want to make sure his next home is one where he will be just as loved and well cared for as he has been throughout his life.
