  • Pickles & Gerkin – Photo 1 of 8
    Pair

    Pickles & Gerkin

    €35adoption fee

    Guinea Pigs · 1-2 years · Female · Small

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

two sweet ladies who love to lunch! Meet Pickles & Gerkin – they are 1-2 year old sisters who came into the NSPCA after being found living in completely unsuitabke conditions. Pickles had a ton of missing fur on her back and open wounds, and was extremely withdrawn. Her breathing was also quite laboured. We weren’t sure if she would make it. After a few days here and secretly eating at night, Pickles slowly started to come out of her shell and we were finally able to give her the medication she so badly needed. She got a medicated bath, got treated for parasites and went on anti-biotics to help her lungs recover from her infection. She really turned a corner during this time and became a different pig – all of a sudden she as ‘wheeking’ when she heard the treats coming, munching down on hay and coming to the front of the enclosure when she heard her salad coming, and her pal Gerkin was with her the whole way! These girls have really been through it and deserve the best piggy home after all they’ve been through – could you be the one for them? Thank you for choosing to adopt guinea pigs from the NSPCA. Please make sure to do your research on how to care for a small animal before considering adopting. We recommend guinea pigs be kept indoors with an enclosure that’s a minimum of 140 x 60cm for with an adjoining run to exercise and explore. Guinea pigs require proper housing, bedding, food, enrichment, exercise and vet visits. Small animals are not pets for young children to look after, all the family must be on board to look after and care for any new pet coming into the home. We have seen too many being abandoned so please make sure that you are in a position to look after them and provide them with everything they need.

  • Luna – Photo 1 of 4

    Luna

    €245adoption fee

Black Mouth Cur · 15 months · Female · Medium

    Co. Longford, Ireland

Luna is a beautiful 15-month-old girl with the gentlest soul and so much love to give. Originally rescued from Spain and brought to Ireland, Luna is now looking for a new home through no fault of her own. She has so much affection to share and is happiest when she’s close to her people, soaking up every cuddle, belly rub, and bit of attention she can get. One of the loveliest things about Luna is watching her discover the joys of being a dog. She’s only recently started learning how to play, and it’s been wonderful to see her confidence blossom. She absolutely loves chasing a ball—although she’s still working on the “bring it back and let go” part! For now, she’s much happier proudly carrying her prize around for everyone to admire. Luna is incredibly friendly and sociable. She loves meeting new people, is great with people of all ages, and is always excited to say hello to every dog she passes. Her warm, loving nature makes her a joy to be around. As Luna is not currently based at our shelter, any meet and greets will need to be arranged in advance. If you’re looking for a young dog with a heart of gold, a playful spirit, and endless affection to give, Luna could be the perfect addition to your family.

  • Toffee – Photo 1 of 4

    Toffee

    €135adoption fee

Domestic Medium Haired · 1-2 Years · Female · Small

    Co. Longford, Ireland

Toffee is a gorgeous fluffy calico girl, probably just over a year old, and she is absolutely full of life, personality and divilment! This girl is very active and definitely likes to keep her humans on their toes. She has a particular talent for attacking houseplants and knocking anything she can find off shelves and ledges — so a Toffee-proof home is definitely recommended! Toffee would need to be the only cat in the home, but she can live with dogs. She would be best suited to a home without young children, where her big personality and playful antics can be appreciated. We think Toffee would be happiest as an indoor-only cat, where she can safely spend her days playing, exploring, getting into mischief and keeping everyone entertained. She may be a little bit of a handful, but she’s also absolutely gorgeous and has bags of personality. If you’re looking for a beautiful, active, quirky companion who will never leave you wondering what she’s up to next, Toffee is your girl! Reserved

These girls were really well looked after and they are such gentle souls, so we hope it’s not long before they’ll find their new home. Pea and Phoenix are very close and they would suit a family who will have them roaming around the house, snoozing, eating and cuddling all day long 🙂. Chester

    €100adoption fee

    Lionhead Cross · 4 months · Male · Small

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

a really gentle sweet little man Chester is a 4 month old lionhead cross rabbit who was born in a foster home with his 4 siblings. He has always known love and kindness and s a very well rounded bun as a result. He is the smallest of his siblings so he needs to wait another few weeks before he’s big enough to be neutered, so we’d love him to go to a foster home who would like to adopt him after his surgery. Chester is too young to be neutered yet so he must go to a foster home until he can come back to the shelter for their surgery. We are planning on booking his neuter surgery for the end of October so he will be on foster until then. We are particularly looking for families to foster with the intention of adopting Chester after his surgery; we call this process ‘fostering-to-adopt’. Thank you for choosing to foster-to-adopt a rabbit from the NSPCA. Please make sure to do your research on how to care for a small animal before considering adopting. We recommend rabbits be kept indoors with an enclosure that’s a minimum of 140 x 60cm with plenty of indoor free roam time.
