    Lyric

    €275adoption fee

    Newfoundland Cross · 2 years · Male · Large

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

Lyric is a stunning young Newfoundland with a heart every bit as big as he is. Still growing into his enormous paws, this handsome boy greets life with boundless enthusiasm and absolutely adores meeting new people. Every new friend is met with a wagging tail and puppy-like excitement, so his new family will need to be comfortable handling a giant breed and helping him learn that not everyone is ready for such an enthusiastic hello! Like many young dogs, Lyric loves getting out and about and can be quite strong on the lead as he eagerly heads off to explore the world. Hes looking for a family who are committed to continuing his training and helping him develop into the calm, well-mannered companion we know he can be. When its time to play, Lyric is always ready for fun. He loves a game of fetch and is just as happy making new friends over a favourite toy. While Lyric loves people, he can find other dogs overwhelming, so hes happiest walking in quieter areas where he wont meet lots of canine companions. Hed love a family who enjoy hopping in the car to discover peaceful walking routes together, giving him the chance to explore without the stress of busy environments. Lyric is searching for a calm home in a quiet area with a secure garden where he can stretch his legs, play and relax. With time, patience and a consistent routine, were confident hell settle beautifully into home life and become a loyal, affectionate companion.

  • Otto – Photo 1 of 1

    Otto

    Cornsnake · Male

    Co. Cork, Ireland

Cornsnake looking for a home. He’s been depressed here and we don’t blame him. He needs a home to brighten his spirits! Homecheck required must have a secure functional vivarium, appropriate substrate and hides. Essential care involves feeding frozen-thawed rodents, providing fresh water daily, and sourcing an exotic veterinarian. Beginners should research species like corn snakes and ensure they can accommodate a 20+ year lifespan.

  • Patch – Photo 1 of 1

    Patch

    €200adoption fee

    Jack Russell · 6 years · Male

    Co. Cork, Ireland

Patch is a classic Jack Russell, he is 6 years old and in great nick having come from a very caring home. Unfortunately Patch developed a tendency towards controlling behaviours – growling, snapping – when he didn’t get his way. In his home he learned that he could get away with not going out, or staying on the sofa by giving a growl to make his owners back off! In the weeks since he arrived to the rescue, we have had no issue with him. Handling him; clipping on leads; sending him out with volunteers for walks; walking and sharing a kennel with other dogs – all fine. So Patch is not for everyone, we know he may try to employ previously-seen controlling behaviours once he settles in a new home. He needs an experienced, quieter home without people going in and out all the time. He also needs someone prepared to give firm correction if he tries to get away with anything! Patch is a clever, loving, entertaining lad. He is very trustworthy on and off the lead and he is immaculately clean in his kennel. Yes, he needs an experienced owner, but also a home where he gets plenty of fun, encouragement and comfort. Because of his history we will not rehome him to a household with young children. Patch mixes really well with other dogs here. It could be a bonus having another dog in the home where Patch more easily understands that the world doesn’t revolve around him! If you are interested in meeting Patch please read the Adoption Process on the website and apply using the Adoption Questionnaire.

  • Luna – Photo 1 of 6

    Luna

    €275adoption fee

Terrier (Staffordshire Bull) Cross · 7 years · Female · Medium

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

Meet Luna, a gentle soul with a quietly confident spirit. This lovely lady is sweet natured and affectionate in her own understated way. She is not one for constant fuss or overwhelming attention, but she truly enjoys being near her people, happily sharing space and companionship on her own terms. Luna is looking for a calm, adult only home where she can be the only pet and enjoy the peaceful life she prefers. A secure garden is important for her, giving her the freedom to stretch her legs, explore, and play safely at her own pace. She would love to live close to quiet walking areas where she can enjoy relaxed strolls without encountering too many other dogs. Even better if these spots are within walking distance, as she prefers not to spend long in the car. After a gentle walk and a bit of fresh air, Luna is perfectly content to settle down beside you and simply relax, soaking up the comfort of home. She would thrive with someone who is home for most of the day, offering her steady companionship and a reassuring presence. In return, Luna will be a loyal, calming companion who brings warmth and quiet joy to the right home.

  • Papi – Photo 1 of 1

    Papi

    £250adoption fee

    Terrier x · 15 months · Male

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Papi has been a nervous little guy in kennels. He has taken a little longer than most to settle so it will be important that any adopter will take the appropriate time to allow Papi to decompress from his stressful kennel stay. Behind that though Papi is a little ball of energy and fun, he is very active and everything is 100 mph. Papi could live with children aged 13 + years who have a sensible approach to dogs. Papi will need to be the only dog in the home.

  • Carol – Photo 1 of 3

    Carol

    €35adoption fee

    Guinea pig · 1 year · Female · Small

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

a shy girl who needs a piggie-sister Say hi to Carol – she is a 1 year old guinea pig who was brought into the shelter after being found abandoned in a house. Poor Carol was absolutely terrified of everyone. She was in good health but living in very dirty conditions with no hay or proper food. Thankfully, after a thorough checkup with our vet team and treated for some mites, she was given a clean bill of health and is ready to find her forever home. Carol needs to go to a home with other female guinea pigs or neutered male guinea pigs. We think she is craving other guinea pig company and we want to help her with that as soon as possible. We think she’ll be a much happier pig once she has a sister or two! If you can offer this lovely sweet girl a home please apply for her 🙂 Thank you for choosing to adopt a guinea pig from the NSPCA. Please make sure to do your research on how to care for a small animal before considering adopting. We recommend guinea pigs be kept indoors with an enclosure that’s a minimum of 120 x 60cm with plenty of indoor free roam time. Guinea pigs are highly social animals and CANNOT live alone. Please only apply to adopt Carol if you have other female guinea pigs or neutered males that you can bond Carol with. Guinea pigs require proper housing, bedding, food, enrichment, exercise and vet visits. Small animals are not pets for young children to look after, all the family must be on board to look after and care for any new pet coming into the home. We have seen too many being abandoned so please make sure that you are in a position to look after them and provide them with everything they need. Reserved

Beautiful boy Buddy loves peoples & is very affectionate. He isn’t particularly enamoured with other dogs – however he could possibly be homed with another female pending a meet & greet OR on his own. Buddy is great on lead and would enjoy regular, sniffy walks. He is good in the car & his favourite spot is cuddled up on your lap.

    Queenie

    €100adoption fee

    Angora Cross · 8 months · Female · Small

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

the best girl who was a super mom to three boys! Queenie is a 8 month old Angora cross bun who came into the shelter after being found living in horrific conditions. Her gorgeous coat was completed matted and hard causing her alot of pain, and she was living in a tiny enclosure full of animal waste. To make matters worse, she had just given birth to three day-old babies when she was found. She was rushed up from the other end of Ireland to Dublin where she could get immediate care. We worried that with all the moving around that she would reject her babies, but despite everything she was the absolute best mom. Her boys grew up quickly and have since gone to a foster home until they’re old enough to be neutered and find forever homes. Queenie was very glad to have a pod all to herself and not have to share food anymore! She is now ready to find her own home and there is no bun who deserves it more than this absolute Queen 🙂 Thank you for choosing to adopt a small animal from the NSPCA. Please make sure to do your research on how to care for a small animal before considering adopting. We recommend rabbits be kept indoors with an enclosure that’s a minimum of 140 x 60cm for one rabbit with plenty of indoor free roam time. Rabbits require proper housing, bedding, food, enrichment, exercise and vet visits. Small animals are not pets for young children to look after, all the family must be on board to look after and care for any new pet coming into the home. We have seen too many being abandoned so please make sure that you are in a position to look after them and provide them with everything they need. • Karen – Photo 1 of 1

    Karen

    Dog · 3-4 years · Female

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

Karen is between 3 and 4 years old. Karen spent a long time waiting in the pound, but now that she’s in rescue, we’ve had the joy of getting to know the real Karen — and she’s absolutely beautiful, inside and out. In the house, she’s a dream. She’s calm, respectful, and gentle. No chewing, no destruction — just a lovely companion who’s happy to quietly share your space. She’s comfortable being left alone and doesn’t stress or make a fuss. Honestly, she’s a lot like having a Labrador around — affectionate, steady, and loyal. Outside, Karen enjoys doing her own thing. She loves a good sniff and walks beautifully on the lead. While we haven’t fully tested her with other dogs yet, she passes them calmly and politely on walks. Karen is a deeply loyal girl who’s ready to bond with someone special. She doesn’t ask for much — just a safe home and someone who’ll love her as much as she’ll love them. Could that be you? This is Karen on a day out from the kennels.

  • Gambon – Photo 1 of 11

    Gambon

    €35adoption fee

    Guinea pig · 1.5 years · Male · Small

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

a piggie with luscious locks! Meet Gambon – he is a male guinea who came into the shelter from another rescue. We estimate he is around 1.5 years old. Gambon is a stunning guinea pig with such a lovely shiny coat – and he knows it! He certainly knows how to work a camera – just look at that over-the-shoulder snap! Gambon is quite a dominant guinea pig so would do well in a home with younger males or a home where he could be neutered and live with females. He’d be best suited with someone who has had guinea pigs before and has some experience bonding them. No doubt he’ll be a head-turner wherever he goes 🙂 Guinea pigs are highly social animals and need to live with other guinea pigs. Please only apply for Gambon if you have other male guinea pigs or are open to neutering Gambon so he can live with females. Thank you for choosing to adopt a small animal from the NSPCA. Please make sure to do your research on how to care for a small animal before considering adopting. We recommend guinea pigs be kept indoors with an enclosure that’s a minimum of 140 x 60cm for two guinea pigs with plenty of opportunities to roam in a larger space with tunnels, hides and things to forage in and search for food. Guinea pigs require proper housing, bedding, food, enrichment, exercise and vet visits. They are also very shy animals.
