Dino is a 9-year-old American Staffy cross with a big personality and an even bigger love for life. He's a big pup at heart and still loves playtime and a daily stroll. Dino is affectionate and loves to spend time with humans. He’s especially fond of his toys, with balls being a firm favourite — he’ll happily keep himself (and you!) entertained with a good game of fetch, He could live with another dog and would suit a home with teenagers. Dino is ready to bring plenty of fun, love, and personality into his forever home — could that be with you? Lola has a complicated history that has involved at least three different homes. This little lady has some difficulty meeting new people so is exactly the dog that needs some consistency in her life. With a slow approach you can certainly build a beautiful relationship with Lola and you will be greeted with the loveliest happy smiling face in the mornings. Lola however will always prefers quieter walks away from, runners, heavy traffic or cyclists. On these quieter walks she does walk beautifully on the lead. Lola would prefer to be the only dog in the home. Lola could live with children aged 13 + years who have a sensible approach to dogs. We will support Lola by way of our Aprils Wish program – April’s Wish... Helping every dog find – and keep – their forever home We will contact you if we are moving forward with your application.
Tegan is gentle giant who has a sweet and gentle temperament. Despite her size she is as timid as a mouse and takes time to get to know people. She can be worried by new people but getting to know them is made sweeter if they have her favourite thing, a tennis ball! She will play fetch for hours given the chance and acts like a giddy puppy during playtime! Tegan is a very strong girl, so she does need help with training around loose lead walking. Her carers at Dogs Trust will be happy to show you how to achieve this in the home. She loves her food and takes treats very gracefully from you with admirable manners. Tegan is dreaming of an adult only home that will help in her confidence building and becoming familiar with strange noises gradually. She will need to live in an area that is quieter than average, with little traffic and very few visitors to the home as the world is very scary for Tegan right now. She will rely on her close knit family unit to support her and help her grow in confidence while she learns what it is really like to live in a home. Having a garden will be fantastic for Tegan to have an outdoor space she can explore and relax in when the outside world is initially scary. Tegan may take some time to come round, but watching her go from stregnth to strength is endlessly rewarding and we are sure you will fall for her just like we all have!
Handsome boy Steve came into our care through our inspectors, after being found straying. He is approximately 12 years young! He has spent some time in foster and gotten a glowing report, Steve still enjoys playing and walks. he's a super social boy and could live with another dog and would be an option for someone living in an apartment to adopt. Can you offer this little guy a place on the couch next to you? To adopt a dog from our Dublin center, we highly recommend a visit to our site on Mount Venus Road. Sadbh is a sweet, bright girl with a gentle nature and a curious mind. She truly enjoys learning and would flourish in a home where her new family is excited to continue guiding and teaching her, helping her build confidence and discover new things at her own pace. She is happiest in a calm and peaceful environment, as she is used to a quiet household. A home with older teens would suit her well, where she can feel secure and settled without too much hustle and bustle. While she can manage meeting dogs when out and about, Sadbh would prefer to be the only pet in the home so she can fully relax and enjoy her space. Sadbh loves company and feels most comfortable when she is not left alone for long periods. She is looking for a caring family who can spend plenty of time with her throughout the day, offering companionship, reassurance, and lots of gentle affection. With the right home, Sadbh will be a loyal and loving companion, bringing warmth and quiet joy to those around her.
Tango is a 5 year old saluki lurcher who is a real favourite of everyone at the rescue. He is so beautiful and gentle, but he also gets a regular dose of the giddies which leads to vast, sprinting loops of our fields! Tango, we believe, has never lived inside a home before. He loves bed and will settle easily into a house, however, house-training may be something to work on across his first couple of weeks in a home. He is very clean here in kennels since getting neutered, but it should be considered that living in a home will be new to him. Tango does well with other dogs. He is terrific with the females but will try to be the boss if other males are being annoying around him! We would definitely rehome him with a female dog, but a male would have to be pending a meet and greet. Tango does not necessarily have to live with another dog, but if there is no dog in his home, we would hope there wouldn’t be too many leaving hours. Lurchers do not generally do well by themselves for any real length of time. Tango has never lived with children before and can be a bit grabby with food (perhaps understandably) so we would prefer a home with children 12 plus for Tango. Meanwhile, a secure garden is preferrable, he has probably been used for hunting in the past and may have a prey drive that does not stop at your boundary! This may be negotiable depending on the location of the home offered and the efforts owners put into oversight. We really would love to see Tango find a loving home, he is so so affectionate. If you would like to apply for Tango please read the Adoption Process on our website and apply using the Adoption Questionnaire.

A gentle, charming blue boy who found the sofa on his very first day and hasn't looked back. What his foster pawrents say: “Benny is an absolute gent and has already made himself right at home." A greyt big hello from Benny Benny is a five-year-old blue boy who arrived in his Dublin foster home on 5th May, which also happened to be his birthday. Kennel life is behind him and sofa life has officially begun. First impressions? Gentle, calm and quietly confident. He found the couch in record time, which tells you everything you need to know about him. He's still taking in all the new sights and smells, as any newly arrived hound would be. But with foster hound Jenny by his side, he's settling in beautifully. Early signs suggest Benny and Jenny are going to be very good friends indeed. What makes Benny so special? Benny arrived and immediately got on with the important business of being adored. He's calm, gentle and easy to be around, the kind of boy who makes himself at home without any fuss. Early days, but the signs are all very good. 💙 Gorgeous blue boy with a gentle, calm nature. 🛋️ Found the sofa on day one and settled in straight away. 🐕 Getting on brilliantly with foster hound Jenny from the very start. 😴 Settling into his sleep routine. 🚽 House training in progress. 🌍 Getting used to everyday sounds on local walks. ✨ Still discovering toys and play. Fred came to the shelter as a stray. At just 10 months old, he is still so young and excited for a future filled with new adventures. He is a very affectionate & loving boy, full of fun, very playful and excellent on lead (once he gets that initial excitement out!). Fred will make an amazing companion once given some consistent training, regular exercise/ play, routine and of course, a loving home to feel safe in. Poor Fred can become stressed when left alone for too long – so he will need someone at home most of the day to help settle him in.
Stunning Wilma came in from the pound, she is a gentle soul. She is lovely with people, good with other dogs and can be homed with another male (of similar size) or will do well as an only dog in the home. She will thrive with routine exercise and positive training, walk well on the lead. No cats or small pets in the home. Older children if any, teenagers preferably. Will need time and patience to help Wilma understand she is safe. She will make a great companion. Should not be left alone for long periods
Milo is a 2 year old collie/husky/boxer mix. He’s fully vaccinated and neutered. Milo is crate trained, good with children and other dogs. He is looking for a new home through no fault of his own.
Henry is a 6 year old french bulldog, he is a typical messer French Bulldog, he’s full of fun, silly energy and he’s very affectionate. His happiest place is sitting on your lap on the couch. Henry loves going for walks, most of the time. Like a lot of French Bulldogs he will sometimes refuse to budge. He is not a fan of cleaning and is reactive to mops, hoovers and moving cloths. He just needs to be in another room when you clean. Henry has no problem with anywhere on his face or body being touched but hates having his nails trimmed. He does suffer from seasonal allergies for which he gets medication but is otherwise a healthy dog. He is well socialised around dogs but is not a fan of cats. Henry is very clever and responds to commands like sit, stay, come, got to bed. He will do whatever you want to get treats! He is an anxious dog and gets stressed when there are too many people in the house or when there are loud noises. He would be best suited to a quiet, predictable home with no children or possibly teenagers familiar with dogs. When he gets stressed or overstimulated he can communicate this by jumping and has nipped at hands a couple of times in the past. This is not aggression but a reaction to being overstimulated. He can be distracted by treats or telling him to go to bed. Due to changing circumstances in our family we can no longer give him the attention and quiet, safe space he deserves so we are reluctantly looking to rehome him.
Summer is a 3 year old red setter x collie who is looking for an urban home. She is a lively and energetic girl who will need a secure garden. Summer is neutered, vaccinated and recently wormed. She is very friendly and loves a snuggle on the sofa after her walk.

Say hi to Frankie! Frankie is a bright, sensitive boy whos ready to find a committed home where he can truly thrive. Hes incredibly intelligent and loves learning, especially when it involves tasty treats and his favourite toys , both of which he absolutely adores! Hes searching for an adult only family who will continue his journey with positive, reward-based training and help grow his confidence. He has been working on his greetings of other dogs as he can find this very over exciting, so he will be best as the only pet for now. Frankie would love a home where he can relax, play, and learn at his own pace. Hes a sensitive soul who may be unsure around new people at first, but with patience and kindness, he builds lovely bonds and truly shines. Frankie enjoys getting out and about, but quieter walking areas will suit him best, he may prefer scenic drives to peaceful spots where he can explore without too much going on. This special boy is ready for a fresh chapter filled with kindness, patience, and encouragement. If youre someone who understands that the most rewarding relationships take a little time and effort, Frankie could be the perfect companion for you.
Meet Smokey Smokey is a young Staffy cross with the most stunning brindle markings and an equally beautiful spirit. When she first arrived with us a few weeks ago, she was terrified of the world and unsure of everyone around her. Since then, we’ve had the joy of watching her blossom into a happy, confident girl — and it has been truly wonderful to see. Smokey is fine when out and about with other dogs, but she would prefer to be the only dog in the home where she can enjoy all the love and attention to herself. Sadly, she cannot live with cats. We are looking for a home with dog-savvy children aged 12 plus who will understand her lively, bouncy nature. Smokey is strong on the lead, so an active home with someone willing to continue her training would be ideal. A secure garden where she can have a good run around and burn off some energy before walks would really benefit this fun-loving girl. Smokey has come on so far already and now needs a loving home where she can continue to thrive.

Layla is an incredibly gentle and affectionate girl, with a heart of gold and enough personality to brighten any home. Layla is a truly special girl with so much love to give. At 6 years of age, she absolutely adores human company and is happiest when she’s out on a walk with her favourite people, soaking up cuddles and attention. She is very sweet, affectionate, gentle, and incredibly patient, Layla has a lovely nature that makes her a joy to spend time with. She is very intelligent and loves to keep herself busy, especially when toys are involved. In fact, she’s convinced she should be an official toy tester! She loves fetching, and playing, and, like many enthusiastic toy experts, occasionally “redecorating” them by pulling them apart. Layla is muzzle trained, lead trained and is fantastic for the vet, taking everything in her stride like the clever girl she is. Layla loves other dogs, and with the right owner experience and a positive dog meet, could potentially live with another dog. Layla is searching for a loving home where she can enjoy cuddles, adventures, toys, and quality time with her humans. In return, she’ll offer endless affection, loyalty, and plenty of laughs along the way. This sweet girl has so much love to give and deserves a home where she will finally be cherished.
Smart, energetic and full of drive, Arlo is ready to find an experienced home where he can learn, play and thrive. Arlo is a 6-year-old Belgian Malinois who is as clever as they come. He loves staying busy and enjoys spending his days soaking up attention, playing fetch and learning new tricks. He is a highly intelligent and active boy who will need a home that understands his breed and is committed to continuing his training. Arlo thrives when his mind is engaged, so ongoing mental stimulation and structure will be just as important as his physical exercise. Arlo has lots of energy and would be best suited to an active family who can include him in plenty of adventures, from long walks to fun training sessions and outdoor activities. He has previously lived with children and could potentially do so again, depending on the household. He may also be able to live with another dog, pending a successful meet. Arlo is looking for a home where he can be part of the action, learn new skills and build a strong bond with his people. With the right guidance and commitment, he will make a loyal and rewarding companion.
