  • Rondo – Photo 1 of 4
    In foster home

    Rondo

    Lurcher · 3 years · Male · Medium

    Co. Clare, Ireland

Rondo is an uber-handsome lurcher who's about 3 years old. This handsome lad is wonderfully relaxed, easy-going and affectionate. He loves nothing more than hanging out with his favourite people. Rondo would be an absolute dream companion for someone working from home, happily lounging beside you while you get on with your day. He’s fantastic with other dogs and quickly made friends with the doggies in his foster home. He’d be equally happy living with canine companions or as your one and only. Given his gentle, affectionate nature, Rondo is lovely with children, too. Rondo has been cat-tested and can certainly live with dog-friendly feline friends. Rondo is on the larger side for a lurcher, around the size of a smaller greyhound, and he really is one handsome, distinguished gent! A real head-turner!

    Boxer Cross · 6 years · Female · Large

    Co. Kildare, Ireland

Jess is a stunning, 6 year old Boxer Cross with a sunny disposition who loves human company. In the large dog category, Jess needs an adult handler and is definitely not suited to being walked by under 16’s. She is a real sweetheart who loves her cuddles. We don’t know if she could live with cats and any future canine companion in her new home is subject to a successful meet and greet. A real beauty, Jess is bound to be popular.

  • Izzy – Photo 1 of 9

    Izzy

    €250adoption fee

    Terrier · 10 years · Female · Small

    Co. Kildare, Ireland

Izzy is a pretty, 10 year old Terrier who loves her home comforts, doesn’t like car travel and prefers not to have to meet too many dogs, especially larger ones. In other words, Izzy would like a quiet home without too many distractions. She very much bonds with an owner, likes a cuddle on a lap and this amount of human contact is actually sufficient for her. She will make a lovely companion pet for someone at home most of the day. We are looking for a home without children and other pets as Izzy is not 100% predictable in her behaviour around other dogs and strangers. Not a fan of long walks, Izzy will be happy just to amble around a garden. She will do very well in the correct home with an experienced dog owner who will receive all her love.

  • Rocco – Photo 1 of 1

    Rocco

    €275adoption fee

    Lurcher Cross · 1 year · Male · Medium

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

Rocco is a beautiful, friendly lurcher who absolutely loves his people and has a wonderful way of lighting up everyones day when they are around. He has a naturally loving nature and enjoys his walks, especially when he can use his nose, explore his surroundings and take in all the interesting smells. Rocco is happy to greet people while out and about, although he can sometimes become very excited and jumpy. With continued training, patience and plenty of positive reinforcement, he will need someone who can help him learn how to politely say hello and manage those big feelings, so he can continue to enjoy all the affection he deserves. He is a clever, energetic boy who loves his training sessions (and food!) and is always keen to learn something new. He travels brilliantly in the car and loves the opportunity to have a good run around and stretch his long legs. Rocco is also friendly with other dogs, but his excitement can sometimes make him a little full-on. He will need canine friends who are comfortable with his high-energy personality, alongside a family who can continue helping him learn how to manage his excitement and interact appropriately with other dogs. As with any new home, Rocco will need time, patience and understanding while he settles in and gets to know his new family and surroundings. Rocco could share his home with other dogs and could live with older children who wont be intimidated by his size. His adopters will need to be prepared to continue his training and give him the time and consistency he needs to build confidence, learn new routines and truly settle into family life. In return, they will have a loving, fun and wonderfully enthusiastic companion by their side.

Because of his age, energy levels and Collie nature, experience with the breed would be preferred. • Florence – Photo 1 of 5

    Florence

    €245adoption fee

    Collie · 7 years · Female · Medium

    Co. Longford, Ireland

Florence is a beautiful 7-year-old Collie who is finally ready to find a home of her own. Florence came into our care after being found tied up with her puppies, with no shelter from the elements. She was a wonderful mum and took great care of her babies, who have now all found their forever homes. Now it’s Florence’s turn to be someone’s special girl. As Florence has likely never experienced life in a loving home, she’ll need a family who understands that she may need some time, patience and guidance while she learns all about home life. A little Collie experience would be a real bonus. Despite everything she’s been through, Florence is an absolutely beautiful and very friendly girl. She also doesn’t seem to mind other dogs, although any potential canine friendships would of course need to be assessed properly. Florence has spent her life caring for others. Now we’d love to see her experience the love, comfort and security of a home where she can finally be the one getting spoiled.

    Bruce Lee

    Dog · 7 years · Male

    Co. Down, Northern Ireland

MEET BRUCE LEE At 6–7 years old, Bruce is a lovely, friendly and settled Collie boy who has all the wonderful qualities you’d expect from a Collie — but with the volume turned down just a little! He’s past the crazy young Collie stage and is a much more chilled-out, easy-going boy who is simply a pleasure to have around. Bruce loves his walks and is learning so quickly how to walk nicely on the lead. He has excellent recall, and he absolutely adores being in the house. In fact, give Bryce a comfy spot indoors and some company, and he is one very happy boy. He gets on brilliantly with other dogs and really has no issues at all. He’s friendly, affectionate and just an all-round lovely boy. More than anything, Bruce wants what every dog deserves — a family of his very own. He’s waited long enough for someone to choose him, and we would love to see this gorgeous boy settled into a loving forever home where he can enjoy his walks, his home comforts and, most importantly, being part of a family. Bryce is ready. He just needs someone to choose him. Please contact Almost Home Animal Rescue NI if you think Bruce could be the boy for you.

    €275adoption fee

Collie (Border) Cross · 1 year · Female · Medium

Flossie is a gentle soul with a whole lot of love to give. She may be a timid girl who needs a little time to feel comfortable, but once she has had the chance to get to know you at her own pace, she blossoms into the most loving and cuddly companion. When Flossie finds her person, she forms a very special bond and would happily spend her days right by your side. For Flossie, the world can sometimes feel like a big and scary place. She needs new people to take things slowly and give her the time and patience she needs to build trust. With the reassurance of someone she knows and loves, her confidence grows day by day, allowing her naturally curious and gentle personality to shine through. Flossie will need ongoing support with learning to walk nicely on a lead, so her new family will need to be patient and happy to continue her training at her own pace. A fully enclosed garden would be a real bonus for her, giving Flossie a safe space where she can gradually build her confidence and discover the outside world without feeling overwhelmed. Flossie is looking for a calm, adult-only home with people who have plenty of time, patience and understanding to help her flourish. She does enjoy the company of other dogs, and having a confident canine companion in her new home could help her feel more secure and show her that the world isnt quite so frightening. With the right person by her side, Flossie has so much potential to blossom.
