Percy was recently returned to the sanctuary because he wasn’t getting on with the other male dog in the home. Percy had originally arrived to us at the end of 2025 from a welfare case. Percy is a sweet little man who has bags of love to give. He is very cuddly and enjoys being close to his people and ripping up expensive toys. Despite his age, he is still very active and loves his walks – he gets very excited when he sees his leads coming out. One thing noted in his previous home – when Percy is resting he does prefer to not be disturbed- this had caused some issues previously, it would be much better for sleep and rest that Percy has his own little space. Percy will now need to be an only dog in an adult only home.

Reamonn is a sweet little Terrier cross who could use a wee bit of confidence building so is hoping to find patient adopters who can help him out with that. When at ease he is bright and lively and quite fond of treats. Hed love a secure back garden to play in and looks forward to spending quality time in it with you. Fine for kids 14 and over.
Jeffrey was recently returned to the sanctuary. Jeffrey had a road traffic accident many years ago which resulted in the loss of his leg. Jeffrey our little 3 legged Frenchie, has a skin issue which is currently controlled with apoquel medication- the sanctuary will assist with the cost of this. Full details will be given on this if you are invited for a meet with Jeffrey. Jeffrey has had a number of homes in his 5 years so we will do all we can to ensure his next home is his forever one. Breed experience will benefit your application. Jeffrey likes to spend time hanging out in our office, we have worked out he is not a fan of printers or paper shredders and has given himself the role of office security, he’s generally quite a noise sensitive little man. Jeffrey is a big character and despite the missing leg he is like a whippet! Jeffrey would like an owner who is available for cuddles most of the time. Jeffrey will need to be the only pet in the home. We will consider homes with children aged 8 + years who have a sensible approach to dogs. We will contact you if we are moving forward with your application.
Handsome Barnaby is an approx 5 year old lurcher who came to the centre having been found straying around West Cork Barnaby is extremely mellow, he rarely goes mad for zoomies, just jogs along contentedly around the fields. He is a dream to walk onlead – very mannerly, no pulling or straining. Barnaby is fine with other dogs but we have no history for him around cats so we will aim for a home with no cats (we presume he has been used for hunting in the past). He is becoming a huge fan of a cosy bed and also of toys, he would be fine to be left for several leaving hours a day. Barnaby’s only issue is around food. In his past he probably needed to grab food from wherever possible and this has formed bad habits. We are working on it but unfortunately it will affect the age of children with whom he can be rehomed. Older sensible teenagers minimum for Barnaby – at least until we have him being more patient and gentle with treats and meals. If you would like to offer Barnaby a loving home, please read the Adoption Process on our website and apply using the Adoption Questionnaire.

If you come within two feet of her, she immediately rolls over for belly rubs, delighted to soak up any attention. She loves to play ball, enjoys company, and mixes well with other dogs. Quinn is a gentle, loving girl, but she can be unsure around unfamiliar men, so a home that understands her sensitivity will help her feel safe and confident. Quinn is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated , and is now ready to find a family who will appreciate her sweet nature and playful spirit. If you think Quinn could be the perfect addition to your home, we’d be delighted to hear from you.

Sophie (Shepherd X) Meet Sophie. Sophie is a 10-month-old young girl with a huge personality and a lot of love to give. She is affectionate, people-focused, very clever and loves being involved in family life. She enjoys cuddles, attention and meeting people, and she will usually assume every visitor has come especially to see her. Sophie is still young and can be very excitable when greeting people. She may jump up at first, but she responds to clear direction and settles once the initial excitement has passed. She has had training and will benefit from an experienced home that can continue with calm, consistent boundaries, lead work, recall practice and plenty of enrichment. She loves her walks and usually has around an hour of exercise each day. Sophie can pull on the lead and will need continued work in this area. Her recall can be good in the right setting, but she should stay on lead or on a long line unless in a fully secure area, as she cannot be trusted around rabbits, small animals or other high-interest distractions. Sophie can be good with other dogs, but she is very playful and excitable at first. She may be best as the only dog, or with a confident, tolerant dog of a similar size after careful introductions. She is not suitable to live with cats, rabbits, small furries or very small dogs. Sophie loves children, but because she jumps up and does not always realise her own size, she would be best suited to a home with older, dog-savvy children only. She is best fed separately from other animals and people, as she can be protective around food and treats. Sophie also appears to have food sensitivities, so her new home should continue with her current diet and avoid chicken and beef unless advised otherwise by a vet. Sophie settles best with company and will need a home where time alone is built up gradually. She can nap in a crate during the day if needed, but she is not used to being crated overnight. Sophie will make a loyal and affectionate companion for the right home. She needs an active, patient and experienced family who can give her structure, training, exercise and plenty of human attention. Age: 10 months Sex: Female Dogs: Possible with careful introductions; best with a confident dog of similar size, or as an only dog Cats: No Small animals: No Very small dogs: Not recommended Children: Older, dog-savvy children only Ideal home: Active, experienced, secure garden preferred, committed to ongoing training Key Needs: Lead work, recall management, enrichment, gradual alone-time training, separate feeding

Long walks are one of her favourite things, and she’s always ready to explore When out on walks, Dusty wears a muzzle as she isn’t comfortable around other dogs and prefers to keep her distance. Her future family will need to continue managing this with positive training and sensible handling, but in return they’ll gain a loyal, affectionate companion who forms strong bonds with the people she loves Dusty is searching for an experienced home that understands the needs of her breed and can give her the mental stimulation, exercise and companionship she deserves. Despite his age he is still up for adventures, he adores his walks here at the shelter but most of all he would love a home to rest in after a walk. He could live with another dog and a home with teenagers. Can you give Sidka his retirement sofa? To adopt a dog from our Dublin center, we highly recommend a visit to our site on Mount Venus Road. This handsome Lurcher is a big, sweet boy looking for a home with experienced owners who understand the breed and are confident handling lurchers. We received Colin from the pound and he was quite shy at first. He has recently been neutered, is fully vaccinated, and has also received his kennel cough vaccination, so he’s ready to start the next chapter of his life. As a tall dog, he will require a secure home with high fencing to keep him safe. He enjoys getting out and about, however due to his prey drive and size, he must be walked on lead and muzzled in public settings. He is looking for a committed home that understands his breed and is willing to continue helping him become the best companion he can be. If you have experience with sighthounds and can offer a secure environment with a tall fenced garden, this lovely lad could be the perfect addition to your family. ❤️
Bobbi is a beautiful female Lurcher with a gentle soul who is searching for a patient, loving home where she can truly blossom. She can be a little shy when meeting new people and in unfamiliar situations, but beneath that quiet exterior is a sweet, affectionate girl who enjoys gentle company and kind handling. Bobbi walks well on the lead and takes comfort in a calm, reassuring routine. Bobbi gets along well with most other dogs and could happily live with a canine companion, pending successful introductions. She would be best suited to a home with children aged 12 and over who can respect her sensitive nature. As with all Lurchers, Bobbi will need a secure garden with 6ft fencing to keep her safe while she enjoys stretching her legs and relaxing in the sunshine. If you’re looking for a kind-hearted companion and are willing to give her the time she needs to build her confidence, Bobbi will reward you with unwavering loyalty and love.
German Shorthaired Pointer · 3.5 years · Male · Large
Co. Longford, Ireland
Sebastian is a stunning 3½-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer who is looking for an active home with working breed experience. This boy is absolutely beautiful and full of energy — he would thrive with a family who understands high-energy working breeds and can provide plenty of exercise, stimulation, and structure. Sebastian loves to swim and enjoys getting out and about, but he can be reactive on the lead, so he will need ongoing training and guidance in this area. He would be best suited to a home with adults only, and while he gets along well with dogs of a similar size, he would be best suited to a home without other dogs. Sebastian has so much potential in the right hands and would make an incredible companion for someone ready to match his energy and enthusiasm for life.
Paz is a beautiful, gentle Greyhound with the sweetest nature. She loves heading out for her daily walks and strolls beautifully on the lead. Once shes had a chance to stretch her legs, youll usually find her curled up in a cosy spot, happily snoozing the afternoon away. Paz could happily live with children aged 10 and over who understand and respect her gentle personality. She has always been happiest as the only dog in the home and would love to keep all the attention to herself. That said, shes perfectly content passing other dogs while out on her walks and is polite and relaxed in their company. What Paz loves most is simply being with her people. She would thrive in a home where someone is around for much of the day, not because shes demanding, but because she enjoys quietly sharing your company. Whether shes following you from room to room, keeping you company while you work, or simply lying nearby as you relax, Paz is happiest just being part of your day. If youre looking for a calm, affectionate companion who will fill your home with quiet love and loyal friendship, Paz could be the perfect match.
Alfie is a handsome 2-year-old Lurcher who is looking for a loving home of his own. Alfie is a lovely boy with plenty of personality, but we’re looking for a home where he can be the only dog. As a young Lurcher, Alfie will need plenty of exercise, enrichment, and opportunities to stretch his legs, followed by somewhere cosy to relax afterwards. He’s ready for a fresh start with someone who will understand his needs, give him time to settle, and help him enjoy life to the fullest. If you’re looking for a handsome boy to have all to yourself, Alfie could be your perfect match.
Levi is a handsome 2-year-old Lurcher with a love of life and plenty of energy to burn. Like many Lurchers, Levi loves to stretch his legs and would thrive in a home with a very secure garden and high fencing, as he’s an impressive jumper! This lovely young lad is looking for an active family who can provide him with plenty of exercise, enrichment, and, of course, a cosy sofa to curl up on afterwards. Levi has so much love to give and is ready to find a home where he can enjoy the freedom to run, play, and simply be a dog.
Ernie was surrendered into our care earlier this year as his owner’s circumstances changed and he was struggling living in a built up city area and his owner felt they needed to do the right thing for Ernie and give him a better chance at life and at a quieter pace. Ernie is microchipped, neutered and vaccinated He walks very well on the lead and is muzzle trained Ernie loves his food and even better when there is chicken involved He would like a home with no young children and as the only dog in the home as he loves attention and will thrive better on his own Ernie would do best with a home in the countryside where he can enjoy the peace and tranquillity and slower pace of life He would love a secure garden where he can be safe and just be a dog with plenty of runs and zoomies Ernie loves his big soft round cushion bed and is so happy to have a snooze after a walk or run around He is very handsome with almost a full white coat with some brown on the top of his tail and his face Ernie gives the best smiles and loves to be petted – he looks for reassurance and once he feels safe, he will shower you with affection He just needs a chance to be himself and to be understood – Ernie is a dog who loves the peace and quiet. He is not a fan of travelling in a car. Ernie would thrive in the country with his humans – we know there is someone for every dog as they are not all the same. Can you give Ernie his chance?
