    €245adoption fee

Jack Russell Terrier · 11 years · Male · Small

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

This sweet older gentleman Jack, came into us from another rescue. At 11 years old he loves to potter and sniff in the garden just as much as he loves to curl up in the couch. As a senior boy, he does require medication to managed a medical issue. He is calm enough to suit apartment living and would be an ideal companion for someone home during the day or for a home with older children, he loves company! Alternately a home with a canine companion would be lovely too. Jack spent time in a foster home, and got a glowing report! Foster report: “He is confident and seems tranquil on his own but has major FOMO so if you’re doing anything he’d love to be a part of it! He is really cuddly and friendly with everyone he meets. His favourite place is on the sofa, completely under a blanket” Can you offer Jack a cosy spot on your couch? Gabriella

    €275adoption fee

Collie (Border) Cross · 2 years · Female · Medium

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

Gabriella is a petite young girl with a big personality and a very special story. She came to Dogs Trust as a mum, and after doing such a wonderful job raising her puppies, they have all now found loving homes. Its finally Gabriellas turn to find a family of her own! Gabriella has been through a lot in her young life, so meeting new people can feel a little scary at first. She may need some time to understand that she is safe and that she can trust the people around her. But once she has had the chance to warm up at her own pace, her wonderful personality begins to shine through. Before long, this once-worried girl becomes a wriggly, giddy bundle of fun who absolutely loves cuddles, attention and playtime! Gabriella also really enjoys the company of other dogs and could potentially live with a confident, friendly canine companion who can help her feel more secure as she settles into home life. Having a doggy friend to show her the ropes and join her for endless games could be a wonderful boost to her confidence. A secure garden will be essential for Gabriella while she learns to walk happily on lead. Her new family will need to be prepared to take this process slowly, allowing her to build confidence before expecting her to tackle the wider world. Gabriella is looking for a home with adults or older teens who will be patient, understanding and willing to let her set the pace. Her adopters will need to take the time to learn her body language, recognise when she is feeling unsure and support her gently as she adjusts to her new life. For Gabriella, the journey will be all about patience, trust and celebrating the little steps forward. In return, her new family will get to watch a beautiful young girl blossom into the happy, affectionate and playful companion she has been waiting to become. Gabriella has already given so much to others. Now she is ready for someone to give her the time, love and security she deserves.

  • Smokie – Photo 1 of 2

    Smokie

    €275adoption fee

Terrier (American Staffordshire) Cross · 1 year · Male · Large

    Co. Dublin, Ireland

Smokie is a handsome adolescent American Staffordshire Terrier with a huge heart and an even bigger love for affection. He thrives on human company and is happiest when hes soaking up attention from his favourite people. Whether its cuddles on the sofa or relaxing beside you after a walk, Smokie loves being part of the family. A food enthusiast through and through, Smokie is highly motivated by treats, making training both fun and rewarding. When hes not enjoying a tasty snack, youll often find him stretched out on a cosy bed, enjoying a well-earned snooze and embracing his comfort-loving side. Smokie is social with other dogs and enjoys canine company. He does have a rough-and-tumble play style, so any potential doggy housemate would need to be a suitable match who enjoys similar play and can comfortably keep up with his enthusiasm. With sensible introductions, he could potentially live with another dog. As a young and excitable boy, Smokie can sometimes jump up when meeting new people and may occasionally hump when overstimulated or excited. These are common behaviours that can be improved with continued positive reinforcement training and guidance. Smokie is eager to learn and would benefit from a home committed to helping him develop his polite greeting skills. Smokie could live with older teens who are comfortable around energetic dogs and can help support his ongoing training. If youre looking for a loving, affectionate companion who enjoys both adventures and lazy days on a comfy bed, Smokie could be the perfect addition to your home.
