When he was brought to the vets, he was diagnosed with Intervertebral disc disease. He is on long term pain relief for this, which is to be given every other day. Darla

    £300adoption fee

    Labradoodle · 8 months · Female

Darla is a very shy and sophisticated young lady so she did take time to settle in with sanctuary life. now that she is settled we feel she is ready to find her home. Darla is a very energetic pup which comes with her age and breed type so she would need a home with the time and coping mechanisims to suit her needs. Darla could possibly live with another male/female dog pending successful meet and greets. Any male dogs would need to be neutered as Darla is too young to be spayed. Darla could live with children aged 8+ who have a sensible approach to dogs.

  • Gregory – Photo 1 of 1

    Gregory

    £100adoption fee

    Domestic Shorthair · 8 years · Male

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Greg is a popular resident at the sanctuary, and with good reason! He is very chatty, loves a cuddle and has the grumpiest little face. Greg has tested positive for FIV which means he will need to be kept indoor and the only cat in the house. With cat that has FIV (Feline immunodeficiency virus) they will need to have an extra eye kept on them health wise. This does not mean they can’t still live long and fulfilling lives! He also has spinal compression so he would need raised food bowls and lowered bedding to help his back. He is on long term pain medication, which is to be given intermittently. We will help with supported adoption for him, meaning we will cover any vet fees in relation to FIV treatment (as long as he is brought to our vets in Antrim) He would be suited to a home with children who have a sensible approach to cats. He will need to be kept indoors.

  • Poppy – Photo 1 of 1

    Poppy

    £250adoption fee

    French Bulldog · 2-3 years · Female

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Poppy is a fantastic little lady with people, she greets every person she meets with a butt wag. Initially Poppy was an unclaimed stray so we didn’t have any detail on her. Poppy did have some issues with toilet training in her last home but was making progress. Poppy will be best living as an only dog but is not at all reactive when walking past dogs in the street. Any adopter should be mindful that French Bulldogs can be among the most expensive of dog breeds to keep . Breed experience/knowledge will benefit your application.

  • Commodus – Photo 1 of 1

    Commodus

    £100adoption fee

    Domestic Shorthair · 1-2 years · Male

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Commodus is a handsome boy (he definitely knows it!) He is very confident and loves to strut around the cattery! Commodus would need to be the only cat in the house, as he is a rough player and is attuned to his hunting. He will need some time spent playing with him to exert some of that energy. He is very affectionate and will sit on your lap to make biscuits. He is also VERY vocal and loves to have a yarn. He would be suited to a home with older children.

  • Covie and Nala – Photo 1 of 1
    Pair

    Covie and Nala

    £250adoption fee

    Dog

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Covie (left) Male Pomski 5 Years Nala (right) Female Pomski 3 Years A very sad set of circumstances led to this little duos surrender- Covie is very attached to Nala and seems to struggle without her. We would like to keep these guys together. While Nala has been a little dream with us Covie has certainly struggled with all the recent upheaval in his life. Keeping his circle small and making things as predictable and consistent as we can has allowed us to form the beginnings of a lovely wee relationship with Covie. This will be essential for his new owner to repeat and respect the fact that both dogs will need time to decompress after their stressful rescue stay which has included time in both the pound and the sanctuary. Nala has the cutest and cheekiest face we might have ever seen and she knows it. Covie and Nala could live with children aged 13 + years who have a sensible approach to dogs. Covie and Nala may be able to live with another dog pending successful meet and greets.

  • Taxi – Photo 1 of 1

    Taxi

    £250adoption fee

    Bullbreed cross · Young adult – 1 year – 18 months · Male

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

We of course have no background info on Taxi but there’s a been strong argument from the team that he should have been called Tigger! (Winnie the pooh). Taxi is as bouncy as he is friendly. We’re very happy to help this big guy be made safe at the sanctuary after remaining unclaimed at the pound. Bull breed experience will benefit your application. Update as of mid September- Taxi has now been diagnosed with hip dysplasia and has started long term pain relief. We know this probably won’t help Taxi’s rehoming prospects so your likes, shares and engagements are appreciated. Taxi could live with children aged 8 + years with a sensible approach to dogs. Taxi may be able to live with a spayed female dog pending successful meet and greets.

    £100adoption fee

    Domestic Shorthair · 3-5 years · Male

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Chubby Mittens is a real character! He is a sweet an affectionate boy who is aptly named. He loves cuddles and loves his grub. Chubbs is FIV positive which means he has a weakened immunity so will need to be kept indoors only and the only cat in the house (unless they are FIV). With cat that has FIV (Feline immunodeficiency virus) they will need to have an extra eye kept on them health wise. This does not mean they can’t still live long and fulfilling lives He would be suited to a home with children who have a sensible approach to cats. He will need to be kept indoors.

    Cat · 3 months · Male

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Bottom- Yen (Left) Florin (Right) *Update – Florin, Yen & Lira has now been rehomed* All 3 Months This group of kittens are a cheeky bunch! They love playing and hiding in their tunnels. Lira and Florin are getting more confident and affectionate, whereas Yen and Stirling are quite shy but get confidence from their siblings. They will need some time and patience in order for them to fully come round, so they would be best suited to a quiet and calm household. We are unsure what they would be like around other cats and dogs.

  • Homer – Photo 1 of 1

    Homer

    £250adoption fee

    English Bulldog x Frenchie · 2 years · Male

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Homer is a fantastic little character but he does enjoy getting all of you attention. Homer did mix well with the other dogs most of the time however incidents broke out around resources and then a pattern of behaviour developed. Homer will be a superb little guy in an only pet home. He loves nothing more than to be on your getting all the love. While Homer appears to be a healthy boy for his breed type it would be sensible to consider his breed types are among the most expensive to keep. Homer could live with children aged 13 years with a sensible approach to dogs.

  • Bella – Photo 1 of 1

    Bella

    £250adoption fee

    Border Collie · 19 months · Female

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Bella was a farm dog with little interest in working, then she was rehomed to a gentleman briefly before being surrendered to the sanctuary. Bella was not yet fully house trained but was making great progress. Bella is beautiful petite Border Collie with an adorable little personality, she really loves humans and company. Like many Collies she will not do well in kennels. Collies are highly sensitive to noise and the busy kennel environment will make it difficult for Bella to rest. Bella has also been diagnosed with hip dysplasia in our care – she is currently on a trial of pain medication to help with this. Breed experience will benefit your application. Bella has shown some reactivity to other dogs and likely hasn’t been well socialised previously so she will need to be the only dog in the home. Bella could live with children aged 13 + years with a sensible approach to dogs.

  • Arlo – Photo 1 of 1

    Arlo

    £250adoption fee

    Beagle · 5 years · Male

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Arlo has a long history at the sanctuary, having been unsuccessful rehomed a number of times over the years. Return reasons have included redirected bite when splitting up Arlo from the other dog in the household while they were fighting. Arlo has also incidents around resource guarding., We have consulted professional dog behavioursts in the decision to offer Arlo for rehoming. They have likened finding the right person for Arlo to finding a unicorn so we need to be realistic in that Arlo may indeed stay at the sanctuary. We are looking for an exceptional special home for Arlo. The ideal home will be adult only without visiting children Arlo would be the only pet in the home An adopter with exceptional experience and knowledge on resource guarding or complex dog behaviour. A calm patient and responsible owner who will have strict management in place to allow Arlo to live a fulfilled and safe life, while keeping other people and animals safe. Despite Arlo’s obvious challenges he so much love to give and we are certainly getting to see that side of him at the sanctuary. Reading Arlos body language and responding in the correct way has allowed a small group of the team here to build a beautiful relationship with Arlo. One of Arlo’s favourite things is to come and edge himself in between your legs to present himself for a bum scratch, it’s adorable. We know this appeal will suit very few but we need to keep everyone safe, Arlo, the public, his adopter and the sanctuary reputation.

  • Percy – Photo 1 of 1

    Percy

    £250adoption fee

    JRT X · Senior Dog – 10 years + (estimate) · Male

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Percy was recently returned to the sanctuary because he wasn’t getting on with the other male dog in the home. Percy had originally arrived to us at the end of 2025 from a welfare case. Percy is a sweet little man who has bags of love to give. He is very cuddly and enjoys being close to his people and ripping up expensive toys. Despite his age, he is still very active and loves his walks – he gets very excited when he sees his leads coming out. One thing noted in his previous home – when Percy is resting he does prefer to not be disturbed- this had caused some issues previously, it would be much better for sleep and rest that Percy has his own little space. Percy will now need to be an only dog in an adult only home.

  • Jeffrey – Photo 1 of 1

    Jeffrey

    £250adoption fee

    Frenchie · 5 years · Male

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Jeffrey was recently returned to the sanctuary. Jeffrey had a road traffic accident many years ago which resulted in the loss of his leg. Jeffrey our little 3 legged Frenchie, has a skin issue which is currently controlled with apoquel medication- the sanctuary will assist with the cost of this. Full details will be given on this if you are invited for a meet with Jeffrey. Jeffrey has had a number of homes in his 5 years so we will do all we can to ensure his next home is his forever one. Breed experience will benefit your application. Jeffrey likes to spend time hanging out in our office, we have worked out he is not a fan of printers or paper shredders and has given himself the role of office security, he’s generally quite a noise sensitive little man. Jeffrey is a big character and despite the missing leg he is like a whippet! Jeffrey would like an owner who is available for cuddles most of the time. Jeffrey will need to be the only pet in the home. We will consider homes with children aged 8 + years who have a sensible approach to dogs. We will contact you if we are moving forward with your application.

  • Freddie – Photo 1 of 1

    Freddie

    £250adoption fee

    Cavalier x Bichon · 7 1/2 years · Male

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Freddie has had numerous stays in the sanctuary. We are determined that Freddies next adoption will be successful. Freddie has displayed aggression on numerous occasions in the past. Most of these incidents have been around resource guarding of items he considers valuable to him, or reacting fearfully when being interrupted where he is resting. Our behaviourist has indicated there may have been a pain element to this. Freddie has now been on a pain relief and hopefully he will be more comfortable in future. Cute things about Freddie – His little underbite. The way he waddles when he walks. His fave toys- dinosaur, octopus and caterpillar. His enthusiast morning greetings to his fave people. Freddie is the most clearest example we have seen of a dog preferring women over men. With having had so many unsuccessful adoptions we will now saying that Freddie should live in a female only home. There must be no children living or visiting the home. Prospective adopters should be prepared to work with our behaviourist and staff at the sanctuary to help set the home and Freddie up for success. Adopters should be tuned in to dog body language and have experience of dealing with similar behaviour issues. Some small dogs feel the need to shout louder to be listened to so it is important we listen to Freddie’s communication. Assistance will be provided by way of our Aprils Wish program to help with behaviour. Further assistance will be provided by our supported adoption scheme where we will continue to pay for Freddie’s pain relief. Freddie may be able to live with another dog pending successful meet and greets. We will contact you if we are moving forward with your application.
