Contact the rescueAbout Pearl
Pearl the chihuahua arrived here as a stray on the 20th April 2026! On her initial first days she was very inquisitive and friendly but would scream when touched? Staff had the vet assess her and explained they think her body sensitivity may be pain related and not behavioral based on her demeanor. After a series of tests at Glasslyn Vets it was discovered she has a slipped cruciate on one of her hind legs that was also placing pressure on her back thorough poor posture alignment. It goes to show to always have behavioral changes assessed with your vet as well as a canine behaviorist. Once the surgery was complete it was obvious poor Pearl has some serious relief even with the pain from surgery. She could move more freely with her back and gait looked so much more aligned. Now she is in her physio era and building muscle on that leg to kept back to doing what she loves tottering around town judging everyone. She has been with us nearly 6 months now while she makes a full recovery and she has bonded with all the staff. She loves watching the daily drama from her kennel but we know she will adore a perch on a window and walks a leisure in a cosy forever home. Home experienced with the breed and familiar with cruciate recovery. Kids over 12 that are used to the breed also. Female Chihuahua 9 years old ready for her new dream life as your spoilt pet! Only dog household.
