Beautiful Pixie is a 12 week old kitten who is ready to go to her forever home. She is one of the most affectionate, playful and personable little kittens, despite going through so much so early in her life. Pixie arrived as a stray with severely ulcerated eyes. Her right eye was surgically removed immediately and we have been working on preserving the left eye. That eye still has blemishes on the cornea but she still has sight in it so we want to keep preserving it for now. This eye may require further attention in the future, in which case we will support with any vetwork. Pixie’s future owner will need to apply daily eye ointment to that eye to continue to help it to heal. Pixie is a real superstar and doesn’t make a fuss at all when you apply her meds, she uses it as a good excuse for a cuddle! An indoor home with safe outdoor catio access would be ideal. A home with children and other pets should be fine as long as introductions are done slowly and with supervision. If you are interested in adopting Pixie, please visit www.westcorkanimals.com and fill in the questionnaire in the Adoption section.

How to adopt from West Cork Animal Welfare Group

Adoption fees
Dogs: we ask for a minimum rehoming fee of €200 for a dog/puppy. The donation goes towards the cost of preparing pets for their new homes: neutering a female dog costs approx. €140 and a male dog approx. €100, vaccinating costs €35 per vaccine, and micro-chipping a dog can cost around €25. Re-homing donations are very important for us to be able to prepare animals to be homed. By law once you have a dog it is required to be licensed; the licence can be obtained for €20 from any post office. Cats: all our cats and kittens are neutered/spayed, vaccinated and wormed before adoption, and we ask for a minimum adoption fee of €60 for a cat or kitten.
