Contact the rescueAbout Shadow
Shadow is a gorgeous, gentle and affectionate 4 year old trailhound. He is house-trained and mannerly and will make a wonderful pet. His only essential criteria is that there is another dog in the home. Without another dog in the home Shadow will have problems with leaving hours. He finds it very hard to settle on his own, he will howl without a dog companion or human companion. Another dog provides him with the comfort he needs and he settles just fine when he has a buddy. Shadow is a dream to walk on or off the lead, his recall is very good. Shadow is exceptional with all dogs, they just love him – he is playful, respectful and a really positive influence on others. Shadow has lived with children in the past and has also been around cats before. He is steady, trustworthy and just an all-round wonderful animal . How to adopt from West Cork Animal Welfare Group
Read the adoption process and the animal's description, then apply with the adoption questionnaire. When you take a cat home you will be required to read the terms and conditions of adopting a pet and sign a contract agreeing to them; you get a copy of the contract.
Adoption fees
Dogs: we ask for a minimum rehoming fee of €200 for a dog/puppy. The donation goes towards the cost of preparing pets for their new homes: neutering a female dog costs approx. €140 and a male dog approx. €100, vaccinating costs €35 per vaccine, and micro-chipping a dog can cost around €25. Re-homing donations are very important for us to be able to prepare animals to be homed. By law once you have a dog it is required to be licensed; the licence can be obtained for €20 from any post office. Cats: all our cats and kittens are neutered/spayed, vaccinated and wormed before adoption, and we ask for a minimum adoption fee of €60 for a cat or kitten.
