Contact the rescueAbout Chester
Chester is a very sweet and sensitive boy with a gentle heart. He may need a little time to feel comfortable in new surroundings, but with patience, kindness and understanding, he has so much love to give. One of the most important things to know about Chester is that he shares a very special bond with his best friend Dottie. They are incredibly close and rely on one another, so they must find a home together. They are a little team who bring comfort and reassurance to each other, and we would love to see them start their next chapter side by side. Chester can live with other dogs of a similar size, and he could also share his home with older, quiet and gentle children aged 12 years and over who will respect his sensitive nature. Chester can be a little unsure around men, so he will need a home with at least one woman present, alongside patient and understanding men who are happy to let him settle at his own pace. Building trust may take a little time, but allowing Chester to approach when he feels ready will help him feel safe and secure. When it comes to his favourite activities, Chester loves his walks and walks beautifully on the lead. Once he has enjoyed a good walk, he is more than happy to settle down and relax. He is also a clever boy who enjoys training and learning new things, so positive training sessions will be a lovely way to build his confidence and strengthen his bond with his new family. Chester is looking for a calm, loving home where he and Dottie can feel safe, enjoy their little adventures together and have all the time they need to settle in. These two lovely souls are hoping to find a family who will cherish them both, just as they cherish each other. Both Dottie and Chester have coats that will need a little extra TLC, including daily grooming at home and regular visits to a professional grooming salon to keep their coats healthy, comfortable and looking their best.

How to adopt from Dogs Trust (ROI)
Apply to adopt online for the dog you're interested in; Dogs Trust contacts you to arrange meeting the dog. Dublin dogs are at the Finglas rehoming centre; dogs elsewhere are in foster care and can't be visited at a centre.
Adoption fees
Our adoption fee is €275 for adult dogs and this fee helps us to cover the costs of caring for over 1,500 dogs every year. Our fee for adopting a puppy under 6 months is €325. This includes the €275 rehoming fee and a reduced €50 online Dog School fee. Our Dog School classes help puppies learn key life skills and teach owners the basic training skills they need to create a strong bond with their new dog. Every dog adopted from Dogs Trust is microchipped, vaccinated and vet checked. If your new dog is not already neutered at the time of adoption, you will go home with a voucher of €150 towards the cost of neutering a male or €200 towards the cost of spaying a female dog at a local veterinary practice. You will also receive a starter bag of food, a collar and lead. Once they're at home, you'll be able to access advice from the centre team if you need to.
