  • Luna – Photo 1 of 4

    Luna

    €245adoption fee

Black Mouth Cur · 15 months · Female · Medium

    Co. Longford, Ireland

Luna is a beautiful 15-month-old girl with the gentlest soul and so much love to give. Originally rescued from Spain and brought to Ireland, Luna is now looking for a new home through no fault of her own. She has so much affection to share and is happiest when she’s close to her people, soaking up every cuddle, belly rub, and bit of attention she can get. One of the loveliest things about Luna is watching her discover the joys of being a dog. She’s only recently started learning how to play, and it’s been wonderful to see her confidence blossom. She absolutely loves chasing a ball—although she’s still working on the “bring it back and let go” part! For now, she’s much happier proudly carrying her prize around for everyone to admire. Luna is incredibly friendly and sociable. She loves meeting new people, is great with people of all ages, and is always excited to say hello to every dog she passes. Her warm, loving nature makes her a joy to be around. As Luna is not currently based at our shelter, any meet and greets will need to be arranged in advance. If you’re looking for a young dog with a heart of gold, a playful spirit, and endless affection to give, Luna could be the perfect addition to your family.

    Badger

    €245adoption fee

    Collie · 1 year · Male · Medium

    Co. Longford, Ireland

Badger is a gorgeous 1-year-old Collie who is looking for an active family to call his own. This bouncy young boy is absolutely delighted to be around people and has a huge amount of enthusiasm for life. He’s full of energy and will need plenty of exercise, enrichment, training and mental stimulation to keep his busy Collie brain happy. Badger came into our care after being rescued from a neglectful situation, and he’s now ready for the fresh start he deserves. Because of his age, energy levels and Collie nature, experience with the breed would be preferred. His new family should be prepared for an active young dog who will need guidance, structure and lots of opportunities to use both his body and his brain. Badger is a happy, bouncy boy with so much potential, and we can’t wait to see him thrive in the right home.

  • Florence – Photo 1 of 5

    Florence

    €245adoption fee

    Collie · 7 years · Female · Medium

    Co. Longford, Ireland

Florence is a beautiful 7-year-old Collie who is finally ready to find a home of her own. Florence came into our care after being found tied up with her puppies, with no shelter from the elements. She was a wonderful mum and took great care of her babies, who have now all found their forever homes. Now it’s Florence’s turn to be someone’s special girl. As Florence has likely never experienced life in a loving home, she’ll need a family who understands that she may need some time, patience and guidance while she learns all about home life. A little Collie experience would be a real bonus. Despite everything she’s been through, Florence is an absolutely beautiful and very friendly girl. She also doesn’t seem to mind other dogs, although any potential canine friendships would of course need to be assessed properly. Florence has spent her life caring for others. Now we’d love to see her experience the love, comfort and security of a home where she can finally be the one getting spoiled.

    Seamus

    €295adoption fee

    Cross / Lurcher · 11 months · Male · Large

    Co. Longford, Ireland

Meet this handsome young lad! At just 11 months old, this Lurcher cross is a big personality in a growing body! He’s a boisterous, excitable boy who is absolutely full of beans and seems to think everyone he meets is his new best friend. He’s a very sociable youngster who loves people and enjoys meeting other dogs. He can be quite full-on with other dogs, though, so he would need a canine companion who is confident and happy to set appropriate boundaries. He does well with dogs who respect his space and can communicate with him. Despite all his youthful energy, he settles really well once he’s had the chance to burn off some of those beans. As he’ll likely grow into a large dog, his new family will need to be prepared for an energetic young dog who will need plenty of exercise, enrichment, training and stimulation. Older children would suit him best! He’s also an impressive jumper, so a home with high, secure fencing will be essential. This lovely boy has so much potential and is going to be an incredible companion for an active family who can keep up with his enthusiasm for life!

He can be a little reactive when he first sees other dogs, but once introduced to friendly dogs, he can get on really well with them. We’re still getting to know Nikki and aren’t yet sure whether he would be suitable to live with another dog. Any potential canine friendship would need to be assessed through a successful meet and greet. With the right person, Nikki has the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion. He’ll need someone who understands nervous dogs and is willing to give him the time, patience and positive experiences he needs to become more confident. Behind those nerves is a lovely dog who deserves the chance to feel safe, settled and loved.

    Hulk

    €245adoption fee

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · 1 year · Male · Medium

    Co. Longford, Ireland

Hulk is a gorgeous Staffie, around 1 year old, who is looking for a special home where he can continue to learn, grow and build his confidence. Hulk is a clever boy with so much potential, but he’s finding kennel life quite stressful and we would love nothing more than to see him settled into a home environment where he can relax and show his true personality. He’s currently working on his lead training and would benefit from an owner who is happy to continue this work using patience and positive reinforcement. Staffie experience would be highly desirable, particularly for someone who understands the breed and their big personalities! We’re still assessing Hulk around other dogs, so we’re not yet sure whether he could live with another dog. This will become clearer as we get to know him better. Despite finding things a little overwhelming at the moment, Hulk is a great dog with so much potential. He just needs someone who can see past his kennel stress and give this young lad the chance to thrive.

    €245adoption fee

    Lurcher · 12 years · Female · Medium

    Co. Longford, Ireland

She can be a little shy when meeting new people and in unfamiliar situations, but beneath that quiet exterior is a sweet, affectionate girl who enjoys gentle company and kind handling. Bobbi walks well on the lead and takes comfort in a calm, reassuring routine. Bobbi gets along well with most other dogs and could happily live with a canine companion, pending successful introductions. She would be best suited to a home with children aged 12 and over who can respect her sensitive nature. As with all Lurchers, Bobbi will need a secure garden with 6ft fencing to keep her safe while she enjoys stretching her legs and relaxing in the sunshine. If you’re looking for a kind-hearted companion and are willing to give her the time she needs to build her confidence, Bobbi will reward you with unwavering loyalty and love.

    Sebastian

    €245adoption fee

German Shorthaired Pointer · 3.5 years · Male · Large

This boy is absolutely beautiful and full of energy — he would thrive with a family who understands high-energy working breeds and can provide plenty of exercise, stimulation, and structure. Sebastian loves to swim and enjoys getting out and about, but he can be reactive on the lead, so he will need ongoing training and guidance in this area. He would be best suited to a home with adults only, and while he gets along well with dogs of a similar size, he would be best suited to a home without other dogs. Sebastian has so much potential in the right hands and would make an incredible companion for someone ready to match his energy and enthusiasm for life.

    €245adoption fee

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · 6 years · Female · Medium

    Co. Longford, Ireland

Layla is an incredibly gentle and affectionate girl, with a heart of gold and enough personality to brighten any home. Layla is a truly special girl with so much love to give. At 6 years of age, she absolutely adores human company and is happiest when she’s out on a walk with her favourite people, soaking up cuddles and attention. She is very sweet, affectionate, gentle, and incredibly patient, Layla has a lovely nature that makes her a joy to spend time with. She is very intelligent and loves to keep herself busy, especially when toys are involved. In fact, she’s convinced she should be an official toy tester! She loves fetching, and playing, and, like many enthusiastic toy experts, occasionally “redecorating” them by pulling them apart. Layla is muzzle trained, lead trained and is fantastic for the vet, taking everything in her stride like the clever girl she is. Layla loves other dogs, and with the right owner experience and a positive dog meet, could potentially live with another dog. Layla is searching for a loving home where she can enjoy cuddles, adventures, toys, and quality time with her humans. In return, she’ll offer endless affection, loyalty, and plenty of laughs along the way. This sweet girl has so much love to give and deserves a home where she will finally be cherished.

    Ted

    €245adoption fee

    Pitbull · 2-5 Years · Male · Medium

    Co. Longford, Ireland

This boy is your classic overgrown puppy. He’s full of beans, big on affection and always up for an adventure. This boy is an absolute star with staff, volunteers, and even the vet — such a brave boy! Ted adores his walks, playtime, and treats, which makes training with him lots of fun. He is a very energetic boy and will thrive with an owner experienced with high-energy restricted breeds who can continue to channel his enthusiasm in a positive way. Ted is a clever lad and, with time, patience, and consistency, he is well on his way to becoming a refined gentleman. He is both muzzle trained and lead trained, and has already made plenty of friends in the centre. His happiest moments are spent enjoying cuddles with his people or a good game of tug-of-war. Ted would love a home where he can be the centre of attention as the only dog in the household. He is best suited to a home with older children (16+), a secure garden where he can play and burn off energy, and with an owner committed to continuing his training and exercise routine. A cat-free home is also needed, as they are way too much fun to chase.. Do you think you could be the perfect fit for Ted?

  • Lexi – Photo 1 of 9

    Lexi

    €245adoption fee

    Collie · 5-7 Years · Female · Medium

    Co. Longford, Ireland

Smart, sensitive, and full of energy. Lexi is looking for a calm home where she can thrive and feel secure. Smart, sensitive, intense and full of energy, Lexi is a serious border collie looking for an experienced home where she can thrive. Lexi is an incredibly intelligent girl who needs more than just walks to keep her happy. She will need lots of mental stimulation, training and enrichment, and ideally a home where she can have a job or something purposeful to keep her busy. She’s happiest when she has something to focus her clever Collie brain on. She absolutely loves being active and enjoys walks, runs, hikes and, above all else, chasing her ball — in Lexi’s world, the ball is king! 🎾 She’s also highly trainable and loves learning new things, particularly when there are tasty rewards involved. Lexi is toilet trained, sleeps indoors, walks well on lead and has great recall, particularly when her favourite toy is involved. She is also continuing to work on her training and will need an owner who is confident, consistent and strong-willed, while using positive and appropriate training methods to help her continue progressing. Like many Border Collies, Lexi can be sensitive and may become overwhelmed in busy or noisy environments. She needs a calm, quiet home, ideally away from heavy traffic and lots of activity. A secure, spacious garden is a must! Lexi is looking for an adult-only home with someone experienced with collies who understands that she isn’t your typical easy-going pet dog. She would preferably live with a female main carer, and she needs to be the only dog in the home. Lexi is a special girl who needs a very specific home, but for the right person, she has the potential to be an incredibly rewarding companion. If you have collie experience, the time and commitment to continue her training, and the ability to give her the structure and purpose she needs, Lexi could be the girl for you.
