    Patch

    £287.50adoption fee

Terrier (Jack Russell) · 13 years · Male · Small

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Type of home required: This older gentleman is looking for his retirement home! Patch is looking for a quiet home where he can potter about at his own pace and enjoy his retirement. Patch is a friendly little dog when out and about and enjoys to go out for short walks and car trips so he can have a sniff about in new places. He would be best suited to an adult only home and be the only dog in the home so he can soak up all the attention. He is a classic terrier with a big personality and a lot to say so a peaceful area would suit him best. More information: Patch is a typical terrier who needs a quiet and understanding home who will let him do his own thing. Terrier experience would be preferred but not essential. Patch would prefer to be walked in quieter areas where he can explore undisturbed. Patch has been a bit unsure when seeing the vet, and while he has been working on this, he will require some ongoing training to keep building his confidence.

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Type of home required: Meet Wally! This handsome chap is looking for a loving and understanding home to call his own. • Homer – Photo 1 of 1

    Homer

    £250adoption fee

    English Bulldog x Frenchie · 2 years · Male

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Homer is a fantastic little character but he does enjoy getting all of you attention. Homer did mix well with the other dogs most of the time however incidents broke out around resources and then a pattern of behaviour developed. Homer will be a superb little guy in an only pet home. He loves nothing more than to be on your getting all the love. While Homer appears to be a healthy boy for his breed type it would be sensible to consider his breed types are among the most expensive to keep. Homer could live with children aged 13 years with a sensible approach to dogs.

  • Bella – Photo 1 of 1

    Bella

    £250adoption fee

    Border Collie · 19 months · Female

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Bella was a farm dog with little interest in working, then she was rehomed to a gentleman briefly before being surrendered to the sanctuary. Bella was not yet fully house trained but was making great progress. Bella is beautiful petite Border Collie with an adorable little personality, she really loves humans and company. Like many Collies she will not do well in kennels. Collies are highly sensitive to noise and the busy kennel environment will make it difficult for Bella to rest. Bella has also been diagnosed with hip dysplasia in our care – she is currently on a trial of pain medication to help with this. Breed experience will benefit your application. Bella has shown some reactivity to other dogs and likely hasn’t been well socialised previously so she will need to be the only dog in the home. Bella could live with children aged 13 + years with a sensible approach to dogs.

  • Olly – Photo 1 of 19

    Olly

    £287.50adoption fee

    Collie (Border) Cross x Lurcher · 3 years · Male · Medium

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Type of home required: Meet Olly! He is a 3-year-old Collie Crossbreed Mix, and one of our amazing Underdogs. This means that he has been with us for over 6 months! Olly will thrive in a dedicated adult only home, and although he needs to be the only pet, he has been doing really well with building his confidence around other dogs! This means that he should be able to have dog walking buddies! Also, as Olly doesn’t like traffic passing by, a quiet, rural location will suit him best. Olly has some behaviour quirks that he will need to work on with his adopters and the Centre Training Team, so his new family will need to be ready and dedicated to this process! His adoption process will involve multiple meets here at the Centre, followed up by visits to the home with the Training Team. Olly can spend time alone in the home, but this should be introduced once he has settled into his new routines and environment. More information: Olly has lots of energy for playtime and silliness! He loves to play with water and zoom around wide-open spaces. Another awesome thing about Olly is that he is the smartest boy who loves to learn! He is always challenging himself to add more tricks and skills to his list. He would be an amazing dog for someone with an interest in training, or enrichm. Olly is a firm favourite here at the Rehoming Centre with all the staff, this is because of his happy personality and that super cute face that makes us all smile, we have no doubt he will do the same for his new family. If you think you could offer Olly his forever home, please follow the steps below and don't forget to favourite him in your application.

  • Arlo – Photo 1 of 1

    Arlo

    £250adoption fee

    Beagle · 5 years · Male

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Arlo has a long history at the sanctuary, having been unsuccessful rehomed a number of times over the years. Return reasons have included redirected bite when splitting up Arlo from the other dog in the household while they were fighting. Arlo has also incidents around resource guarding., We have consulted professional dog behavioursts in the decision to offer Arlo for rehoming. They have likened finding the right person for Arlo to finding a unicorn so we need to be realistic in that Arlo may indeed stay at the sanctuary. We are looking for an exceptional special home for Arlo. The ideal home will be adult only without visiting children Arlo would be the only pet in the home An adopter with exceptional experience and knowledge on resource guarding or complex dog behaviour. A calm patient and responsible owner who will have strict management in place to allow Arlo to live a fulfilled and safe life, while keeping other people and animals safe. Despite Arlo’s obvious challenges he so much love to give and we are certainly getting to see that side of him at the sanctuary. Reading Arlos body language and responding in the correct way has allowed a small group of the team here to build a beautiful relationship with Arlo. One of Arlo’s favourite things is to come and edge himself in between your legs to present himself for a bum scratch, it’s adorable. We know this appeal will suit very few but we need to keep everyone safe, Arlo, the public, his adopter and the sanctuary reputation.

  • Percy – Photo 1 of 1

    Percy

    £250adoption fee

    JRT X · Senior Dog – 10 years + (estimate) · Male

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Percy was recently returned to the sanctuary because he wasn’t getting on with the other male dog in the home. Percy had originally arrived to us at the end of 2025 from a welfare case. Percy is a sweet little man who has bags of love to give. He is very cuddly and enjoys being close to his people and ripping up expensive toys. Despite his age, he is still very active and loves his walks – he gets very excited when he sees his leads coming out. One thing noted in his previous home – when Percy is resting he does prefer to not be disturbed- this had caused some issues previously, it would be much better for sleep and rest that Percy has his own little space. Percy will now need to be an only dog in an adult only home.

  • Jeffrey – Photo 1 of 1

    Jeffrey

    £250adoption fee

    Frenchie · 5 years · Male

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Jeffrey was recently returned to the sanctuary. Jeffrey had a road traffic accident many years ago which resulted in the loss of his leg. Jeffrey our little 3 legged Frenchie, has a skin issue which is currently controlled with apoquel medication- the sanctuary will assist with the cost of this. Full details will be given on this if you are invited for a meet with Jeffrey. Jeffrey has had a number of homes in his 5 years so we will do all we can to ensure his next home is his forever one. Breed experience will benefit your application. Jeffrey likes to spend time hanging out in our office, we have worked out he is not a fan of printers or paper shredders and has given himself the role of office security, he’s generally quite a noise sensitive little man. Jeffrey is a big character and despite the missing leg he is like a whippet! Jeffrey would like an owner who is available for cuddles most of the time. Jeffrey will need to be the only pet in the home. We will consider homes with children aged 8 + years who have a sensible approach to dogs. • Freddie – Photo 1 of 1

    Freddie

    £250adoption fee

    Cavalier x Bichon · 7 1/2 years · Male

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Freddie has had numerous stays in the sanctuary. We are determined that Freddies next adoption will be successful. Freddie has displayed aggression on numerous occasions in the past. Most of these incidents have been around resource guarding of items he considers valuable to him, or reacting fearfully when being interrupted where he is resting. Our behaviourist has indicated there may have been a pain element to this. Freddie has now been on a pain relief and hopefully he will be more comfortable in future. Cute things about Freddie – His little underbite. The way he waddles when he walks. His fave toys- dinosaur, octopus and caterpillar. His enthusiast morning greetings to his fave people. Freddie is the most clearest example we have seen of a dog preferring women over men. With having had so many unsuccessful adoptions we will now saying that Freddie should live in a female only home. There must be no children living or visiting the home. Prospective adopters should be prepared to work with our behaviourist and staff at the sanctuary to help set the home and Freddie up for success. Adopters should be tuned in to dog body language and have experience of dealing with similar behaviour issues. Some small dogs feel the need to shout louder to be listened to so it is important we listen to Freddie’s communication. Assistance will be provided by way of our Aprils Wish program to help with behaviour. Further assistance will be provided by our supported adoption scheme where we will continue to pay for Freddie’s pain relief. Freddie may be able to live with another dog pending successful meet and greets. We will contact you if we are moving forward with your application.

Behind that though Papi is a little ball of energy and fun, he is very active and everything is 100 mph. Papi could live with children aged 13 + years who have a sensible approach to dogs. • Teddy – Photo 1 of 1

    Teddy

    £250adoption fee

    Terrier type · 9 years · Male

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Teddy was sadly returned to us after being adopted in January last year. Teddy has a history of resource guarding of anything he finds valuable – this has led to bites in his previous home and here at the Sanctuary so this is something that we would want any potential adopter to be fully aware of and comfortable managing potential issues. We have had Teddy checked very thoroughly by our vet in case he was in any sort of pain. Teddy is quite the little character here. He’s not a fan of long walks but prefers to spend time pottering about and playing with toys. Teddy would benefit most from an experienced adopter with some knowledge in working with resource guarding and training with positive reinforcement. Teddy will need an adult only home with no visiting children but he may be able to live with another dog after successful meet and greets. Teddy will also be a part of our April’s Wish programme – where you would benefit from some sessions with a behaviourist during the adoption process to help him transition from the Sanctuary to his new home.

  • Bert – Photo 1 of 1

    Bert

    £250adoption fee

    Shih Tzu X · 8 years · Male

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Bert has had some negative experiences in his life which has led to some fears around meeting new people. Bert certainly appreciates a slow introduction but he is a little guy that’s worth taking the time to get to know. This means that potential adopters would need to be prepared to make lots of visits to the Sanctuary over quite a period of time in order to build up a positive relationship with Bert. When Bert learns to trust you get to see a lovely playful little guy full of energy. Bert also struggles with some resource guarding issues so we would prefer adopters to have knowledge of resource guarding and be prepared to manage this behaviour in a positive way. Bert will be part of our Aprils Wish program so you will have the added benefit of some sessions with a highly qualified behaviourist pre- and post- adoption in an effort to help you understand and manage Bert’s issues. Due to his issues, Bert will need an adult only home. Although Bert has been an only dog we will consider homes with other dogs pending successful meet and greets.

  • Red – Photo 1 of 1

    Red

    £250adoption fee

    Dog · Male

    Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland

Sadly, Red has been with us for over three years now. Red has some fears around meeting new people and appreciates a slow introduction to build a good relationship with him – but once he’s comfortable around you he is full of kisses and cuddles. This means that potential adopters would need to be prepared to make lots of visits to the Sanctuary over quite a period of time in order to build up a positive relationship with Red. Red also struggles with traffic and busy areas so he is in need of an active new home in a quiet area. Here at our Sanctuary he is exercised in our enclosed paddocks and is often taken off-site to quieter areas for calm walks – he travels really well in the car/van. Red has also shown reactivity to other dogs, he will need to be the only dog in the home. Red would be best suited in an adult only home and he will need an experienced owner who is capable of working through these issues. He is also a part of our April’s Wish programme – which will include sessions with a dog behaviourist pre- and post-adoption to help him transition into his new home. Red has so much love to give, when he feels safe and secure he piles this onto you, whether you want it or not, we hope someone eventually sees what we do in Red.
