He is a 3-year-old Akita cross. He’s a sweet, sensitive boy who just needs someone to take a chance on him. He can be quite shy, especially when meeting new people, and he’s particularly wary around men. But give him some time, kindness, and a few tasty treats, and you’ll see his playful, affectionate side shine through. He’s been gaining confidence and making great progress with training to manage his anxiety. He’ll need a compassionate home with someone ready to support his journey—someone who will provide him with safety, security, and love. Trevor would thrive as the only pet in the home—he doesn’t get along well with cats or enjoy sharing attention with other dogs. What he truly desires is to be someone’s one and only, their devoted and loving best friend. He must live indoors as part of the family and will need a fully enclosed garden where he can enjoy the outdoors safely.

How to adopt from Husky Rescue Ireland
Apply online via the adoption form; dogs are matched to suitable homes (many need experienced northern-breed or Akita owners and indoor living). A home check follows, then a meet-and-greet with the dog and a pre-adoption talk; you finalise the adoption and pay the adoption fee, then bring your new dog home.
Adoption fees
Adoption fee: €250. It covers a full vet check, vaccinations, microchip, neuter / spay, rescue back-up for the remainder of your dog's life, and support and advice.
